  1. Not even close for me. That's a series of one-off's after 12 games against mediocre opponents. Leicester negates sample size arguments. Yes, they got relative good fortune based on outcomes in close games and goal differential, but they won the league with thoroughly dominant performances, if not a dominant style. Their execution of their game plan was flawless and they imposed it on every opponent not named Arsenal. The confluence of injuries, bad managerial situations at the big clubs, luck and timing that had to go right for this team to exist was essentially impossible to expect. So many things happened that Leicester didn't even choose. Ranieri wasn't their first choice for example. It's just crazy. Whoever their top scouting guy is going to be richer than hell when whichever big club gets him paid finally pries him loose. It's not going to work again though. Mahrez and Vardy are unicorns.
  2. There's an entire, gigantic global economy rigging the system so that only a dozen clubs in world football matter. It's not just a minor league club beating the Yankees. It's not a cinderella story. It's an unbelievable defiance of overwhelming market forces that doesn't make any sense at all.
  3. Does anyone think Leicester will finish in the top 7 next year? I really, really don't. That doesn't downplay this accomplishment. I just still don't believe in them, as stupid as that sounds. The PL is supposed to be the best, or one of the best leagues in the world. Bayern and/or Barca would roll them so hard. Like 4-1, 5-1.
  4. O when the spurs horsefeathers the bed o when the spur-urrs horsefeathers the bedddd

  6. His teammates all know that if Gyasi is receiving a pass, just stand 5 feet off to the side. Guaranteed goals. Gerrard and Dos Santos are playing like they're worth the money finally. Galaxy gonna be tough.
  7. Fire from Gyasi. [tweet] [/tweet]
  8. And the run. Not a very long list of American players that make those kind of killer runs to find a goal against top level competition.
  9. [tweet] [/tweet] Third youngest ever to get his first goal becomes the youngest ever to get two.
  10. In which the GOAT, Benny Feilhaber, wears a Klinsmann Germany jersey on MLS Insider: http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2016/04/21/benny-mls-insider-presented-adidas?autoplay=true&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=Video&utm_campaign=Unpaid
  11. Tottenham on goal differential, I believe.
  12. When idiot Europhiles complain about MLS playoffs and there's no regular season pressure because everyone makes it and there's no relegation pressure or some such nonsense...i'm going to point to games like this where the team stranded in mid-table wanders around the field like they're halfway to Ibiza as my rebuttal. Plus playoffs are fun as horsefeathers.

  15. That is awesome.
  16. Is tonight the night crying jordan peaks? Regardless of the Warriors winning or losing, it will be lit.

  18. I had to google the Bianca Klajich reference and this still made me laugh out loud. Lol, Big Soccer Enemy #1 circa 2005 aka, why dumb dudes on the internet thought Landon wouldn't play in Europe.
  19. After he gets fired there he can get hired by the Galaxy and try to hook up with Bianca Klajich to complete his "horsefeathers Landon Donovan and everything he cares about" world tour of destruction.
  20. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE BE TRUE http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/spurs-legend-tipped-to-replace-roberto-martinez-at-everton/ STRAIGHT SWAP PLZ
  21. You really have to admire the scale of the ego it takes to become a Zidane type dude. You can even forget the biggest losing of cool in sports history.
  22. To be this precise at full speed is really pretty remarkable. He stomps that ankle with precision. http://a.fssta.com/content/dam/fsdigital/fscom/Soccer/images/2016/04/10/de-jong-nagbe-tackle.vadapt.664.high.60.jpg
  23. When does LA play Colorado? I want to see DeJong v Jermeezus.
  24. As the US continues to look for someone, anyone, to man left back and allow Fab to play in the midfield where he belongs, Brek Shea continues to flash greatness and stupidity in one package. [tweet] [/tweet] He scored that goal and also made a tackle that should've been a straight red. Either way, a healthy and confident Brek is better than Castillo or any of the young guys they try to fit there. On peak form he's way better than Garza, but Garza's floor is a lot higher. Orlando looks really good, just in time for me to move to Florida. I might have to check out a game. Kaka's going to make that Brazil squad for the Copa and totally deserve it. He's playing really, really well. Too bad their purple or I'd get on board. I can't support a purple team.
  25. USS's earlier point about US Soccer subsidizing NWSL is a very, very good one. I hadn't considered that. Still, I'd love a transparent revenue to reward equal equation if not an outright equal share of all soccer revenue to the men. But that's just my progressive politics showing. All that said, Hope Solo shouldn't even be on the team, let alone a spokesman for any of these issues.
