I never said I was celebrating the injury, just his absence from the lineup. He could be missing the series because his wife is about to give birth (between Oswalt and Wilson, it's all the rage in the NL Central right now) and I'd simultaneously wish the Dunn family the best and be happy that he's not in the lineup.
Hope you didn't stay up all night thinking of the title. Do we celebrate Dunn's absence from this weekend's series or exhibit fear that whomever replaces him in the lineup will go ballistic?
There seems to be a date cutoff for the free MLB.TV archived feeds for whatever reason. I believe the earliest free archived MLB.TV feed is July 16 vs. San Fran, the game in which Aramis hit the 2-run double late for a 3-2 win at Wrigley. Good place to start.
Reading further down in that thread, it appears the Cubs will be denied a series at Fenway so that the Diamondbacks can play a series in Boston. Am I the only one who has difficulty believing that Diamondbacks-Red Sox would be a bigger sell than Cubs-Red Sox?
There's a thread at SoSH that has alleged Red Sox 2008 schedule facts, among them that the Red Sox will play 5 of the 6 NL Central teams. Anyone wanna guess the one team they miss? http://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?showtopic=22865
http://www.cubworld.com/category/a_b_chicago_cubs_national_league_central_division_champs Knock on wood, throw salt over your shoulder and mention to yourself how the Cubs haven't clinched yet as you glance at these, just for good measure.
It's a Cubs division title (that they haven't won yet, knock on wood*) roster t-shirt. The thing could be purple and teal (haha Arizona...) and it would still be beautiful. * Not Kerry, I like him.
Maybe I'm missing something here, but the proposed deal in the article would give A-Rod the option to become a part owner after the deal's conclusion, erasing any conflict about player-owner.
