  1. More sacrifices to Jobu are needed, clearly. Jobu like fastball. Jobu no like breaking ball. Pie's bats are sick.
  2. More sacrifices to Jobu are needed, clearly.
  3. This feels like a game we're going to keep close and then let it slip away late.
  4. No, it's clearly going to be a very, very long night...
  5. I hate it when Cardinal scrubs like Ludwick make good plays like that.
  6. Haven't the Cubs played well at New Busch since it opened?
  7. With bug eyes like that (O.O) he can't miss it.
  8. The last block of posts is putting me in a comma.
  9. A good series this weekend and hopefully we can wash that sentence out of our mouths for a while, if not for good.
  10. Home plate umpire just a wee bit inconsistent with the strike zone.
  11. Crapspackle. So it is. Don't I feel sheepish.
  12. Here's to bringing the thunder with the bats instead of the skies.
  13. If Soto manages that by some miracle, I'll voluntarily go join Elizabeth up there.
  14. The Soto board after tonight: 5 HRs; tied with Brian McCann for 2nd among major league catchers (LAA's Mike Napoli has 6) 20 RBIs, 54 total bases, 14 XBH; leads all major league catchers (Bengie Molina is 2nd in RBIs with 17, McCann is 2nd in TB with 51 and 2nd in XBH with 13) .621 SLG, 1.048 OPS; tops among starting major league catchers (MLB.com's stat lines don't list plate appearances or any other good qualifier and Yahoo! Sports won't update with tonight's stats until the early AM, so "starting" is the best qualifier I can give) 1 error in 158 TC .333 CS % (6 of 18 baserunners thrown out) In short? He rakes with the bat. He's got the respect of the pitching staff, the ability to call a great game, a gun for an arm and the brass to go out there and talk some sense into even Zambrano when need be. I know it's only the first month and any player, particularly a catcher, is going to wear down a bit as the summer goes on, but damn.
  15. Lou bringing down the house in the postgame presser.
