  1. Sorry, I had no idea we had to observe Robert's Rules of Order. Especially from somebody with a Fire Dusty avatar.
  2. The E in E-ramis stands for excellent. And while the Pirates may have come up with the oh-so-hilarious Error-miss, Desipio gets credit first for E-ramis, then for coming around to the new definition. Sorry, Goat, I mistook you for one of the Apocalypse Goats who frequents there. Nothing to see here, move along.
  3. You, of all people, Goat Roaster should know what the E in E-ramis stands for.
  4. Those trades turn: Hollandsworth, Mitre, Leicester, Patterson, Walker and Wellemeyer into Trot Nixon, Ray Durham and Jay Gibbons? Are the Cubs trying to win the 2005 pennant or the 2001 pennant?
  5. The Cubs get below league average production at all three outfield spots. All are in need of an upgrade and all three are likely to have different players in them next year than this. Hollandsworth's a free agent, Burnitz has a team option the Cubs are unlikely to pick up and Corey's played himself out of a spot. If you're going to replace them all, you might as well start looking right now.
  6. This goes a few posts back, but how exactly would a Patterson-Burroughs trade help the Cubs? You have nobody to play centerfield, Burroughs can't beat out either Walker or E-ramis, will never play third for the Cubs because of E-ramis and is probably too fat and immobile to ever be a real second baseman. Other than that, I just love it!
  7. Patterson's numbers were not better in the minors than Pie's have been. Corey had one very good year at Class A Lansing, then struggled at both AA and in Iowa. Corey was promoted because the Cubs had Sleeves Buford and Little Sarge in center. Pie has had more success in his minor league career than Patterson ever did, and Felix has been the youngest player in three different leagues in his minor league career to this point. However, throwing a rookie into the leadoff spot halfway through a season, to try and get back into the race isn't a smart thing to do. You'd be better off looking for a short-term fix and letting Felix come to Mesa next year with a shot at winning the CF spot.
