i wont lie, im at the complete opposite spectrum of some of you. i get the bummer that the season is over and this team will never be the same team again but man, this is what we all wanted. just because the season is over doesn't mean the team is gone. first off, im so happy to have a break from super stressful sports for awhile, because i won't have to deal with that until april (maybe) with the blackhawks. but for me, im just so happy and so proud that THIS was the team i got to watch do it. a perfect front office, one of the best managers in the game and an unbelievably likable group of guys. you dont always get that. sometimes your owner is a schmuck and you win anyways. sometimes you win in spite of your manager. sometimes a lot of the players are douchey or not the biggest fan favorites but they're really good so you deal. for me, it doesn't make me sad that we may never have this perfect combination again, it makes me really happy that i was along for the ride the last few years and got to see this perfect team get put together. we'll always have this team, even when we have other world series teams down the road, because this is the team that started it all and finally did something that no other cubs fan ever saw happen at the time. ill probably be 70 years old (lol im not going to live that long) and watch the cubs win their 32nd world series over the last 40 years with theo III and joe maddon III running the show and ill be like "hey grandkids this is great, but let me show you the cubs team that started this horsefeathers because they were the horsefeathering best" and then i'll put a weird chip into all of our skulls and we'll be in some weird VR world watching game 7 of the 2016 world series together.
