I think it's going to be hard for Zambrano to sit around and wait for this to get worked out. From the way I understand this, I don't like the chances of Zambrano signing, or the Cubs being able to much of anything in the free agent market.

Look at it this way, if the Cubs started out with two losses like these and ended with two wins like they started with, you'd be much happier at this moment. But they didn't so it sucks. The Cubs look to be slumping now, and heading on the road to face the hated Cardinals. Their pitching staff sucks, but as evidenced by the Cubs record against hte Cardinals last year, when they get together, you throw the records out. Someone needs to put Kip Wells record in reverse in the Cubs clubhouse and convince them that he's contending for the Cy Young.

I do think that a home plate umpire as a lot better chances at swaying a game to another team than a basketball ref does.
