  1. Now that I think about it more, I think it was a different player that left the same season that had the drug rumors.
  2. I was a student at UIC when Cales left. I think I remember a rumor about potential drug problems (either recreational or performance enhancing).
  3. And in the MLB Networks closing highlight package of their "Quick Pitch" show, they showed it in normal speed (where it looks like it might have hit his helmet) and then Braun at first pointing to his helmet and then cut to him hitting the HR off Dempster and eyeballing him. awesome.
  4. I'm not sure what's worse A) Macha doesn't know what really happened, and is complaining about it. B) When asked about it Braun doesn't go, oh yeah that didn't even hit me. C) the Tribune doesn't mention/know what really happened.
  5. Then you haven't seen nearly enough Cubs games. If we're not counting playoffs, i've got two words Victor. Diaz.
  6. what an amateur production they run up there. --> <--
  7. finally demoted Soto out of the avatar. new one features my current feelings.
  8. There's really no reason for a team with this payroll to have a rule 5 pick on the roster. Unless it's a no brainer stud, Patton is not that guy.
  9. Oh no, an exhausted Dempster, Neal Cotts and David Patton are getting shelled. Time to end the Patton experiment and bring up Ascanio.
  10. Yup. Yeah, but get back to me in a week. Let's see if we're still 2.5 out (doubt it and not for the better, either) Who do we have next? I know the Padres and Astros at home, then down to St. Louis
  11. I know the team looks like crap, but does everybody realize we're 2.5 games out?
  12. I appreciate the sentiment, but I know Bhogg has at least 2 or 3 that are much better. Yeah no offense to your great effort, but obviously someones got to be firing on all cylinders to beat the game thread pimp.
  13. also pretty common to get a young pitcher out of a game on a positive note
  14. The Cubs were due for this horrible luck (with injuries) after being so healthy for two years.
  15. Might just me, but if I was looking to cash in on as big of a contract as possible I wouldn't say anything but positive things about anybody involved with any NBA team. Not that I think BG doesn't like Rose, I haven't really followed the Bulls that closely this year and that's the first I've even heard it talked about.
  16. Is it just me or is this game insanely boring?
  17. I highly doubt it. I don't see a team that is struggling to start the season bringing back the guy that they recently fired under the same circumstance.
  18. I remember Corey Patterson being on one of his streaks of not sucking, and he had a decent hit streak going and Dusty not only gave him a day off but pinch hit him late in the game to only give him 1 shot and continuing his hit streak.
  19. I think this is what some people call a winning streak.
  20. I think Gregg thinks he has a pitches thrown incentive in his contract
