  1. Last year the Mets threw the dirt on the grave of the 2004 Cubs. This year the Mets are relieving themslevs on the grave of the 2005 Cubs.
  2. A-BOMB Thank you for finding theyou home run swing.
  3. Probably the first good curve right there.
  4. That's the first hit Hill has given up to a lefty.
  5. Wow, Lawton made that a little to interesting.
  6. His fastball looks pretty good right now.
  7. even the best fans in baseball booed him That was understandable considering he beat out their guy, what warranted NY to boo him. That was cute :x
  8. The batting practice cap is the greatest hat in the history of hats. I may have to bust it out too. I think they should use the Bear walking through the C logo when they use the alternate jerseys.
  9. Ok I've busted out my secret weapon: A) Nomar Garciaparra Cubs Jersey T-Shirt B) Believe bracelet C) Cubs Batting Practice cap. It worked rather well opening day!
  10. Oh man I hope the projected starters stay in line, because both of my remaining games will be Zambrano. I've never seen awesome Z, Last year I went to a game in milwaukee where was decent but gave up 3 runs, 2 unearned, and the only offense the Cubs could muster was solo shot by Sammy. And this year I went to the Carlos meltdown against the Reds where he threw at someone and got kicked out.
  11. Just to clear things up, I didn mean the Yankees. But they may be done picking up every DFA'd pitcher they can get their hands on. Maybe he can go to Tampa Bay and him and Joe can make the Cubs look stupid together.
  12. A's are going to knock out the White Sox. I just think it will be so funny that during their magical season like one team owned them and they see them in the playoffs.
  13. Here's what Ryne Sandberg has to say about the Cubs series with the mets for his Yahoo Sports article.
  14. Sergio Mitre outdueling Roy Halladay, including him hitting the game winning hit. Only for him to top himself in his next start with a complete game spanking of the Marlins. Prior's first game of 2005, I was there it was beautiful. Neifi's grand slam. Any of the game's where Dlee picked up the other 24 players put them on his back and said, "I don't care how bad you guys suck, we ARE winning this game!". Opening Day. Aram hitting the blast in the bottom of the 9th against Cordero, to bad the ending to that game was :pukel: Burnitz's defense. One that hasn't been mentioned, the one against the Mets where Dusty brought in Remlinger to get Beltran and Floyd, and Floyd just murders the ball but Burnie puts his back into the vines and jumps has high as he can and gets the ball. Dempsters heart attack save the other night.
  15. If we ever need a third catcher, I'd send Big Z out there. And where does this Macias/emergency catcher stuff come from, he's never caught a single inning in MLB (according to Cubs.com)?
  16. The first hit he gave up of the game was the 2RBI double DOH. After 2 walks and a HBP (with a DP in the middle). The HBP was a grazing of the guys helmet with someting VERY off-speed, the guy probably barely felt it (looked like he ducked down and into it )
  17. The Zooperstars were at the game tonight! You need to get a Q&A with Harry Canary. :D
  18. Oh yeah, and I had a bad feeling before the bottom of the 9th. Nolen cruised through 2innings. Than walk, hit, walk to start the 9th and bring the tieing run to the plate. Mendez got an infield pop up on the first pitch. Threw a wild pitch to score 1, and walked that batter to bring the winning run to the plate but got a DP.
