  1. Double Post for emphasis!!
  2. I'm glad we have don't have an overloaded bullpen so everyone can stay sharp!
  3. Ugh! Wild Pitch, Runner goes to third. 1 out
  4. 2 runs allowed in coors field in 6 innings, yes quality start. good job today by mark. Throw in 10k's and only 2 bb's, and 5 hits! Very nice outting
  5. And Gerut had how many at bats as a Cub? Not that I was a huge fan of Gerut, don't get me wrong! 04/04 - 08/17 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS Gerut 14 1 1 1 0 0 2 0 2 3 0.071 0.188 0.143 0.330 But he did save us man!!! :) They are basically the same player, with Lawton having more ab's and more success in them.
  6. And Gerut had how many at bats as a Cub? Not that I was a huge fan of Gerut, don't get me wrong!
  7. Corey showing why he was called back up!
  8. I heard Baker's reasoning for sending down Murton was that we are in a playoff race and you can't have rookies out there learning the game and making mistakes. You know we are in trouble when are veterans are consistently making rookie mistakes.
  9. Not to mention we have only had 2 consistent starters all year. Maddux and Z.
  10. Apparently you are forgettting Patterson's # of pop fly outs as well! He does more than just ground out!! :)
  11. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/chc/news/chc_news.jsp?ymd=20030705&content_id=409599&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp Isn't Patterson making close to 4 million? He was sent down, where was Dusty arguing to keep him up?
  12. I've heard a nasty rumor the top of the order could loook like this 1. Macias rf 2. Perez, ss
  13. Maybe the organization wants what happened to Sosa to happen to Corey?
  14. He really does need the practice. He is really rough when he calls the games.
  15. Everybody get him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. You look eerily like Steve Bartman in that photo!
  17. You make a strong point, and then you put the blame on Hendry? Is it Hendry's fault the pitchers aren't covering first? It is Hendry's fault Burnitz has been picked off? He gets the players, it's Dusty's job to make them perform. If Dusty can't do that, it's Hendry's job to find someone who can make them perform. And I don't believe it's all Dusty's fault. A lot of it has to do with the players. I know they are sub par defensively, but there's no excuse for laziness... and no excuse for a manager that allows laziness on his team. I guarantee you if LaRussa or Guillen were coaching the Cubs, we wouldn't have a problem with guys not covering first. Because it only would've had to happen once before someone was fined or benched. That is why he put the blame on Hendry. Inaction. We jump on Dusty for his inaction with the players lack of fundamentals, when we should also jump on Hendry for his inaction with allowing Dusty to be an idiot.
  18. No, a Pirates fan goes into the season knowing there have no hope of making the playoffs and will have young guys play. The Cubs on the other hand get our hopes up and then tank, and we get to watch old crafty Veterans over rookies who bust there butts off, and hustle to first base on an infield grounder.. Not to mention Pirates fans feel about $60 million in lesser expectations.
  19. Hell, just go with this... CF - Macias SS - Perez C - Blanco RF - Hollandsworth P - Prior 2B - Walker LF - Lawton 3B - Ramirez 1B - Lee it doesn't really matter Nah, Lawton's a vet, and he's got speed. The lineup won't be good, but Lawton will leadoff if he's playing, I guarantee it. With the username sarcastic, you think you would be able to find the sarcasm in people's posts :)
  20. No longer should we settle for them being just mediocre. Do you think fans of the Yankees or Red Sox just want their team to be over .500? That is having low aspirations. While I agree about making it to the postseason, I could care less what they do from here on out. Sure if they make the postseason great, over .500 and no playoffs, they might as well be the Devil Rays.
  21. I've harped on how horrible Rusch has been since his last few starts and his entire time in the bullpen. Fred was kind enough to show his stats. He has been absolutely brutal since right before he was shifted to the pen. He should have been traded at the break when his stats looked decent.
