Tell me why I thought this year was going to be different -It was different. A little different at any rate. We won the division two years in a row. In my lifetime it's been a good year followed up by stink-city. Tell me why I thought we were really the best team -Best team over the long haul. A five game series is not the best format to prove that. Actually, I believe the Dogers were the best second-have team. Had this Doger team took the the field, as is, all year long....who knows. Maybe we'd have been the second best team in the NL. Tell me why I actually started to believe -Personally, I was far more optomistic in 2003. Tell me why one bad pitch by Ryan Dempster scored 4 runs for the Dodgers while the Cubs can't buy a hit with a man on base - Dumpster made more than one bad pitch. Most of them somewhere above the batters head or bouncing in front of the plate. Hence the four runners on base. Tell me why I wanted to play the Dodgers in round 1 -Dunno. I was really pulling for the Mets to pulloff a playoff spot. Tell me why guys like Manny Ramirez always get to win -Maybe he'll be a Cub next year!!! Personally, I hope not. But if it means winning..... Tell me why the Red Sox are now unbeatable after ending their curse -There's no such thing as a curse. Just bad execution in-game and poorly assembled and/or bad teams. Tell me why the Cubs haven't won a WS in 100 years now (ESPN sure can't) -See above. Tell me why the Marlins, the worst fan base in baseball has 2 world series in their bleak existence Not the worst fans, just amoung the least supportive. Tell me why I should watch the 2009 Cubs, knowing that this disaster will happen again even if they do make the playoffs -Maybe the new owners will keep Jim Hendry(blech) on. Thatway we can continue to shell-out ridiculus, long-term, overpriced, no-trade-clause laden contracts. Tell me why I should invest 6 months of my life in a sport that crushes you in less than a week -You figure that one out, let me know. I know I will, though. Tell me why I'm a Cubs fan, and I'll never change that -That's the easiest one. It's in the blood. Besides, what are the other options? Becoming a Cardinal fan? No thanks.
