  1. We've found Beavis, now focus all attention to locating Butthead. alright, I'll do it myself http://assets.espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/6936.jpg
  2. alright, someone update me on the latest lingo. what's with "soap dropper?"
  3. We've found Beavis, now focus all attention to locating Butthead. insert picture of Aaron Harrang here.
  4. Put it this way. Has a game ever been turned over. Ever... George Brett pinetar game. Not even close. because, as I have said, it's a two step process. not only did the umps misinterpret the pinetar rule, the misinterpretation certainly had an outcome on that game, ie. taking away a three run homer and declaring the batter out instead. But it was immeditate after the AB. They did wait to play 4 more innings. I have no idea what you are talking about? on both plays the protest was immediately lodged and in both games they continued play until the end of the game. that's the way protests work.

  6. the rule would make no bloody sense if that's the way it worked. what if a manager wants to talk to his pitcher to get an idea of how he's feeling, his confidence level, etc. before making the change? Not sure, but he's referring specifically to a double switch, not just a regular pitching change. that's what I am saying. there's no rule that you can't go to the mound to check on your pitcher only to decide you want to pull him and make a double switch at that time.

  8. that's what I have alluded to a couple of times. "appeal" is a two step process. first, they see if the umpires misinterpreted a rule. if they did, they look to see if that misinterpretation had an impact on the game. here, there is no way they could claim that the misinterpretation had an outcome because neither Soto or the ninth place hitters reached base.

  10. LOL, he doesn't watch many Cubs games does he. Well the post is pretty silly, its just a rant but balls have been bouncing the Cubs way left and right since about late May now. The wild pitching in philly, the flurry of 2 out RBI hits in July, all the errors and bad defense other teams played in August, games like tonight where a couple misplayed balls hand the game to you. Someone upstairs is on the Cubs side. Granted in April/May the opposite happened, the Cubs couldn't buy a break and Yost even said he thought more things bounced our way in that one month than all of last year. you know, like tonight where a check swing and a bloop hit gave the other team two runs. or when Aram's ball that everyone in the world thought would go 430 feet and Hopper made an incredible catch. someone upstairs on the Cubs side. puh-leaz. or when oswalt's wife is being induced the day after he is scheduled to pitch against the brewers. this goes for the Brewers entire season basically. they've had an uncanny knack of missing aces.

  12. Branyan the winning run at the plate with 2 outs in the ninth.
  13. anyone else convinced he shoots down a couple Jim Beams before he comes out for these?
  14. Are they protesting that bogus out call in the 4th (was it?) when Phillips came off the bag well before getting the force out but was called out anyhow?? no, they are protesting the double switch when Soto came into the game.
  15. neither the 8th or 9th place hitter ever reached base after the protest was lodged, thus even if the protest were upheld (aka the league finds the umps botched the play), the umpire error had no impact on the outcome of the game, thus the point is moot.
  16. will you settle for DeRo on the infield?
  17. please disregard this message.
  18. Lou should be shot. how do you not put Cedeno in to run for Aram?
  19. he should have made the catch.
  20. this crow is tasty. come on Aram.
  21. how fat will the pitch that Lee swings through or fouls off be? DP Derrek comin.
