  1. Hello again, Cubs fans! Twice a year, we sit down and find the most popular posts and blogs on North Side Baseball, and their creators receive prizes for their contributions to this community. The Cubs had a wild offseason. In an attempt to win the National League Central, they signed Alex Bregman and traded for Edward Cabrera. We look at the most popular posts and most popular blogs created by our amazing community contributors. Most Popular Post This year, one thread rules the top posts, and long-time users will immediately see why. The most popular post of the offseason goes to @17 Seconds and this meme-based post. One of the best baseball moments of the past few decades is then-manager Bobby Valentine putting on a fake mustache and sneaking back into the dugout after an ejection. 17 seconds, private message me with your name and address so I can send you this Shota Imanaga bobblehead! Most Popular Post Runner-Up Same thread, different comment. @javy knows my name joined in on the fun with this post, good for the second-most-popular comment of the offseason! Most Prolific Poster We like to tip our caps to the poster who earns the most reputation points over an offseason. This year, taking the trophy yet again is @Sammy Sofa. I'd say "get a life, dude", but well, you know. Glass houses, stones, and whatnot. Most Popular Blog Entry One of the features of North Side Baseball is that we offer the ability for any of our users to create a free blog that will be read by hundreds of like-minded Cubs fans. This offseason, the most popular blog entry was from @ryanrc and this blog about how the Cubs should employ a Swiss Army knife approach to pitching. Ryan, to celebrate your win, private message me your name and address so I can send you this cool felt banner with the history of Chicago Cubs logos on it! That's all for this winter, folks. Give a round of applause to all of those mentioned in this piece, and here's to a successful 2026 season for the Cubs!

  4. What grade do you give the Cubs this offseason?

  7. Hi, I have deployed a more comprehensive code snippet for ad-free caretakers. This should work better and includes the ability to remove ads that display before videos. If there are any problems with your ad-free caretaker status, please reply here.
  8. So... this thread BLEW UP on google.
  9. He literally lied about a man who was just murdered in the street of my home city. Stop making excuses, and creating false parallels. Did other people step over the line? Yeah, sure, but not all offenses are equal. Being a rude ass to another user isn't okay. Lying about a peaceful protester who was brutally murdered in our city streets, lying at the behest of an objectively terrible man and administration, is a whole 'nother level of shittiness, one that I long ago promised to never allow to propagate on my websites. Remember, AGAIN, I'm from Minneapolis. You think this is my first rodeo? You can't even IMAGINE what it was like having to navigate the George Floyd situation, which happened ON TOP of a horsefeathers pandemic. I drew a line back then, and I'm sure as horsefeathers not ever moving that line to make people feel better. With that said, this thread is now locked for obvious reasons.
  10. The brownshirt is gone for good.
  11. horsefeathers gross. Gaslight anyone here again, and you're gone. We all have eyes, we saw what happened, and your horsefeathers isn't going to fly here. I horsefeathers LIVE in Minneapolis, and to say your opinion disgusts me on a fundamental human level is the nicest way I can put this.

  20. Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle recently reported that the San Francisco Giants are looking for a second baseman and have checked in on the Cubs' Nico Hoerner. Hoerner, an Oakland native and former Stanford shortstop, is under contract through 2026 on the three-year, $35 million extension he signed in March 2023, and will reach free agency after the 2026 season. In MLB Pipeline’s midseason farm-system rankings, the Giants were labeled as the most improved system since the preseason, rising from No. 28 to No. 18. Bryce Eldridge was the organization’s lone Top 100 prospect, and he reached Triple-A at age 20. The system was also noted for Rookie-ball performers, including shortstops Josuar Gonzalez and Jhonny Level and right-handers Argenis Cayama, Keyner Martinez, and Alberto Laroche. Pipeline also called out the outfield group, led by Bo Davidson and Dakota Jordan. In a Top 30 midseason update, Pipeline graded Eldridge with 70 power, Jordan with 60 run, Carson Whisenhunt with a 70 changeup, and Gerelmi Maldonado with a 65 fastball.
