    this is the best analogy i have ever heard! that is exactly how i feel! i just think too many people give hendry the pass on this garbage

    bottom line is this: the team is awful, it is not even close.. the manager is bad the once great farm system has very little of value anymore and what we do have we can not afford to give up because they are the one semblence of hope(pie,dobriak, murton?) i think dusty will go soon because hendry has to blame someone, if not the 2 of them will rot on the vine together!

    actually after being "this close" to the series, he made a ton of additions (2003->2004). AFter the complete failure of that team down the stretch, he didn't add, but subtracted (2004->2005). they added maddux. they did not add a clsoer. they did not add a lead off man..they added an injury riddle shortstop at break(after needing it all year) from a team that didn't want him anymore. they added perez and macias and grieve...so on...what i mean is what of substance did he add. what hole did he fill...heck the freakin' devil rays add players every year that doesn't mean they are fixin' the team.

    how can a guy with a 301 baa possibly do that? he averages giving up over roughly 14 hits per 9 innings....can't the jaxx do this much?

    haterade? grow up who put this rotting pile of dung together as a team? jim hendry.... we were "this close" to the series and he added nothing and made more holes in the outfield and bullpen and hasn't filled them... call it what you want but if you spend 100 mil for a team and it is battling pittsburgh for last and not st louis for first-YOU DID NOT DO YOUR JOB

    3 questions...they were talking about saving the bullpen for the weekend(except for williamson,obviously) what position player gets to finish? macias? 2nd-wade boggs is wearing harry glasses to do the stretch...who do you think drank more beer harry or wade 3rd- why in god's name are aram,lee and nomar still in the game?or barrett

    Burnitz might be playing poorly lately but his BA is roughly equal to Corey's OBP. Burnitz has been average, which was what he was expected to be this year.... Corey has been really awful. i think hitting .100 for 60 at bats qualifies as being horrible

    we may be behind cincy by the end of the weekend. i am very sure we will finsh behind them for the season. the truly scary part is that pittsburgh could be 5 behind us after today.....

    hendry got rameriz because he was horrible with pittsburgh, they were paying him a bunch of cash and he hadn't produced since he signed his big deal...he had 23 errors in half a season there...they dumped his salary- they did not try to get equal value...it worked out but it was a huge gamble. same with lee, he was aproductive player who was due a big raise that florida as a frabchise usually does not pay...they got a young cheap guy they hoped would develop. hendry's best move we were a game from the series just 2 years ago and we had just a few things to do in order really take a shot at it ...now with all of hendry's genius we are worse than cincy. that's right we are the 2nd worse team in the central and maybe only better than the dodgers and rockies in the league...yeah, great job of putting together a team!

    there is one man who should bare the brunt and that is jim hendry! this is a god awful team.....the managing is bad but would we win anything with anyone else managing? i think not. the players are bad, and many should be looking for elsewhere to play dusty has been dusty hendry put the 2 together....let's start over.

    Would you rather have Hollandsworthless or Sosa in right this year? I think not. Boy, that's a choice between bad and worse.... can we just play right field is an automatic out?

    yes, sit dlee. do not even have him dress. keep him in the clubhouse and work with the trainer.stretch and sit in the whirlpool for 2 days...he has been our offense all year, let him rest and try for some personal accomplishments, at least it will give us something to cheer for!

    just checking to make sure i have this right...we are facing a lefty. we have two left handed hitting outfielders that are regulars. one is 6-52 and the other one was on base all day yesterday and is a better defender, and we are playing the guy who is 6-52.....hmmm

    with this team you can not do any worse. as long as you have z and prior and dempster.....any combo in the rotation and pen can do no worse. in the field aram and lee..and then any combo of clowns can produce the same as what we are paying 100 mil for. how many old vets or young guys could we get that could produce what holla,dubois,hairston,cpatt and burnitz did in the of? how about neifi at short(obviously he is a bench guy) right now we have williams that we got off the scrap heap and hill from our system. rusch would be our next choice and last year we rescued him off the scrap heap. save those 5 guys and perhaps walker, unless you get a true lead off guy at 2nd. then start filling in. whether it's pie,greenberg,murton or a signing we need a change.

    Pierre in left is the biggest waste of that position ever. no that would be this years string of left fielders...and centerfielders and right fielders...

    Oh Goody! :evil: Hey it's my Big East buddy!!!! :D Louisville Cardinals gearing up for the BigEast season! Brian Brohm says "this is MY team now" :roll: I'm friends with Brian Brohm's cousin. I know that doesn't make me cool, but it's still fun to say. DePaul's gearing up for the Big East too. Too bad we're going to get battered in every single sport. Ohhh....another Big East person! We keep expanding and we'll have all the colonies! yeah, i am picking depaul last in football, they haven't won a game in forever!

    I'm guessing Neifi. Hmm...why not both? Well, considering they are the same person... Exactly - I'm still trying to figure out how we had Neifi at SS and Macias in CF at the same time. that certainly explains why our defense has not been that good lately! we are only playing with 8!

    could we get jimmy walker in the booth for the rest of the season. he was pretty entertaining yesterday and can we please,please,give burnitz a day off? earlier we couldn't afford to because he was hitting but now we wouldn't lose much and he might snap out of it if he had a day or two off. he certainly shows no sign of working through it!
