  1. Correa HR, Cubs now have the 2nd best RD in baseball and without looking i'm gonna guess they've played fewer games than the teams around them in the rankings
  2. oh weird the ump forgot to signal strike 1 there
  3. lmao willy can't stand chatwood and gimenez is gonna end up being his personal catcher
  4. Meh. It's the All Star team, not the All-VORP team. Stars drive in runs and hit dongs. VORP you!
  5. are they delusional enough to have hope of winning this series? yeah, they could've won that game, but come on. if it were baseball where either team can realistically win any series, that would've been way more heartbreaking, i agree, but it's the nba. that being the case, 2003 nlcs g6 and g7 losses were both way more painful to anyone with any grasp on reality. even if they're destined to lose this series and lebron, it still would have been an awesome memory to see him drop 50 and steal the first game. i doubt their heavy underdog status makes it much less painful. awesome memory, i suppose I agree...although i'm not sure how much that's worth years later after losing the series...especially given that they actually won one a couple years ago. worse than the cubs blowing two shots at going to the world series for the first time in almost 60 years when they actually had a legitimate chance to win it (for the first time in almost 100)? eh.
  6. it's 2018 and the all star ballot still only shows triple crown stats and stolen bases

  8. All it took was this idiot saying something. He puts Duke to shame.

  11. In terms of jackhole local newspaper humps, bloggers and radio/TV guys looking to fill space/time? Absolutely. Obviously nobody was talking about in the context of how many people regularly show up to the games, so that was just a pointless tangent to begin with. All of these markets, however, have obsessive local media outlets picking over the local teams and players. Chicago is nothing special in that regard, and it's an absurdly lame bit of masochistic egotism to think so. I mean, what the heck do you guys think the (actually) four sports stations in Atlanta talk about? "Uhm, I dunno...maybe we'll talk about sports eventually. Does anyone else really like Coke and flying on Delta?" they may be there but i'm not sure a lot of people are listening or caring. goff used to work in that market and said it was a completely different animal.
  12. oh man how great is the heel turn effect gonna get when we get harper?
  13. http://e.lvme.me/7s2dfdt.jpg
  14. well, yeah.
  15. As opposed to where? There are a lot of big cities that care far less about sports than Chicago. In California, for example. yeah, that was a weird question. florida too, obviously. just look at how easily cubs fans can get into road playoff games usually too. atlanta couldn't sell out damn playoff games.
  16. felt like a lot of our prospects would either have awful first days at each level or would dong, no in between i actually remember where i was when i was reading on twitter about KB's boise debut, lol. same with javy's 4 HR night.
  17. every morning lately all i hear on that awful mully and hanley show that i have no idea why i listen to other than it's on while i drive to work is bitching about how yu is a headcase or yu is already a bust or how big his (not actually big) contract is and how "well" arrieta is pitching
  18. Yup. Win big usually and lose little sometimes. It's pretty great.
