  1. "Bears Win Super Bowl Despite UnBEARably Bad QB Play" Remember the AP story about the Seahawk game. the beginning of the story read: "Two swings of the foot by Robbie Gould were all the Chicago Bears needed to offset any shortcomings in Rex Grossman's arm." Yeah Robbie Gould helped the Bears overcome Rex Grossman 282 yard passing game including a 68 yard td pass to Bernard Berrian. BUT THE WORST OF THEM ALL IS DON BANKS OF SI!!! What a moron and an irresponsible journalist. Before the "Worst QB of alltime" article. He wrote this in his Bears-Seahawks recap. "But he threw a costly interception at the Seattle 5 early in the fourth quarter, lost a fumble late in the first half on a Julian Peterson strip and sack, and threw his only scoring pass (a 68-yard strike to a wide-open Bernard Berrian) in the second quarter. This is what is called rhetoric. First, that "costly" interception was a 5 yard in to Muhammad that hit him square in the chest! Then he writes "wide open" Berrian. Im pretty sure that ball was perfectly thrown in stride. It wasnt like it was the classic Cade Mcnown 40 yard duck to Marcus Robinson. Also in the story he wrote about how "good enough" Grossman made only one big play (30 yard to Davis), and that numerous passes that were thrown off his back foot "cost" the bears the chance to win the game. "With the game hanging in the balance in the second half, Grossman threw a collection of ill-advised passes off his back foot, repeatedly putting the Bears' playoff lives at risk." Actually, Don, Grossman orchestrated 2 drives in the forth quarter that didnt result in points because of drops(the muhammad interception and the Berrian drop pass). This is just one of the many examples of the national media reaching to write a negative article about a 26 year old qb in his first full season taking his team to the super bowl with a franchise who has one hall of fame qb in its 86 years of existence, and he played 60 years ago. Honestly, that makes me sick. That's one of the main reasons I got out of my Journalism major, because I couldn't imagine having to work with clowns like that (or even worse, perhaps becoming a clown like that).
  2. Mizzou beats the Buffs 79-65. Winning is fun.
  3. I would like to be explained why the hell someone asked Reggie Miller a football question.
  4. Charles Tillman. Alex Brown seems like a talker too.
  5. Tony Eason 1985 168 299 56.2 2156 7.2 11 td 17 int David Woodley 1982 98 179 54.7 1080 6.0 5 td 8 int- had three interceptions in the AFC title game. Rex Grossman 2006 262 480 54.6 3193 6.7 23 td 20 int heres some more that you could argue had worse years than sexy rexy and made the super bowl Jim Plunkett 1980 165 320 51.6 2299 7.2 18 td 16 int (11-5, won SB) Jim McMahon 1985 178 313 56.9 2392 7.6 15 td 11 int (15-1, won SB) Phil Simms 1986 259 468 55.3 3487 7.5 21 td 22 int (14-2, won SB) Jay Schroeder 1987 129 267 48.3 1878 7.0 12 td 10 int (11-4, won SB) John Elway 1989 223 416 53.6 3051 7.3 18 td 18 int (11-5, lost SB) Trent Dilfer 2000 133 225 59.1 1502 6.7 12 td 11 int (12-4, won SB)
  6. I've watched it twice already, and I still get chills when I watch it. This is going to be a looong two weeks.
  7. one thing i love about this team is when jones isnt running well, benson is, and when benson isnt, jones is. thats a great thing to have, one guy picking up the other. that said, both guys will break the century mark against the colts.
  8. After sobering up, I've been coming to several realizations: 1) This is only the 8th winning Saints season I've seen in my lifetime. We got to the NFC Championship game for the first time ever. My grandfather, season ticket holder from 1967-1995, never got to see them get this far, so i guess I should be feel blessed. 2) I'm encouraged for the future. Drew Brees is 28, Reggie is 21, Deuce is 28, Colston is 23, Henderson is 24, Copper is 25. They'll be back and I'm just glad that I can look forward to expecting them to do well. 3) I'm glad we were beaten by a franchise with a long and proud history like the Bears, as opposed to being beaten by some nappy expansion team like the Panthers. That would have been like the Cubs losing to the Marlins. It just wouldn't be fair. 4) I'm an NFC person and I'm not a sore loser, so I'll be pulling for the Bears in the Super Bowl. The Saints are definitely not a 1 year wonder. They have a great core on their offensive side. If they have a defensively focused draft, look out for the next few years.
  9. I know, I'm still hoping the Colts pull this out.
  10. I think we all need to agree to not call it a rematch. We need to call it a repeat of Super Bowl XX. Repeat of the matchup, results and all. :D I'll agree to that. :D
  11. Whats the score? As this topic goes over 2000. 21-3. Still 9:00 left in the first half, but the Colts don't look good at all.
  12. Well, looks like it's a Super Bowl XX rematch.
  13. To be fair, NSBB was down for awhile. Was that around the 4th quarter? No it was early, still in the first.
  14. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070121/capt.cxa12401212119.saints_bears_football_cxa124.jpg
  15. Man, am I the only one here still can't believe it? I mean, my absolute favorite team is going to the SUPER BOWL. I'm in shock right now.
  16. I got to root for the Mavs last year, but much like Rocket, they are a distant, distant 3rd behind the Bears and the Cubs.
