    Starlin Castro is incredibly bad right now. He's 2nd to last among qualified SS's in dWAR He's 2nd to last among qualified SS's in oWAR He's 2nd to last among qualified SS's in WAR He's 158th among qualified players in WAR His May was bad .221/.264/.274/.538 His June hasn't been much better .259/.291/.370/.661 This is a guy that was supposedly untradeable.

    Meatballs? Especially as he's taking Starlin to the woodshed right now. At least it was deserved in this case. It's deserved about 99% of the time. Really the only time it wasn't was when Kruk and Schilling were berating him for a ball hitting a rock and blaming it on him. Face it, Starlin sucks this year and he has mental lapses. It's not breaking news anymore.

    #5 starters are generally bad. Jason Marquis was the #5 in 2008 when they won 97 games.

    i am enjoying the current run as much as anyone, but we are setting ourselves up for disappointment if we expect anything resembling good play/results against the cardinals. what the [expletive]? you're awful. He's not wrong. I would eat a shoe if the Cubs beat the Cardinals in a playoff series this year.
