    Not to mention that it was 32 degrees for most of the college baseball season. That being said, the quality of competition isn't as strong as the Pac 12, SEC or other warm weather conferences. What conference is San Diego in?

    IIRC, the Big 10 features many parks that are pitcher friendly A decent comparison for Schwarber might be Kevin Plawecki, a C in the Mets org. currently in AA. He was drafted in the first round in 2012 out of Purdue... Here's his stats his last year at Purdue... Currently in Double A... and note Schwarber has much more power

    This year's crop is underwhelming. No one in this year's draft would be taken ahead of last year's top three. why wouldn't we take best available at 4? As you said the top of draft is underwhelming. Taking a solid guy that comes in under slot will save you money to get more quality players later in the draft.

    My guy still thinks we are definitely in on Jackson. Notes on schwarber--Everything the cubs need: Professional approach, Elite power from left side, ability to work counts, good make up..only thing that hurts him is no certain position. If they take him will most likely start him out at catcher for this year

    Other teams believe Cubs definitely take Jackson if there and would be fine if there is no deal to get another pick in next years draft. If it goes Aiken, Jackson, Rodon....could be any of 10 possible guys

    He played LF when he didnt Catch this year and looked too slow play at the next level.

    Hello Gents-- Long time reader, first time posting...I know an amateur guy out east but he travels all over the country looking at the top talent. He believes Aiken and Kolek will definitely be gone by 4 but Rodon has a possibility to slide to our pick and that we'd definitely take him. If the 3 arms are gone, feels like we'd take Jackson. Also mentioned Beede and Freeland as possible sleepers.
