I was thinking, Werth hit a walkoff homer for the Phillies last night. Who was the last Cub other than Aramis to hit a walkoff homer for us. I honestly can't remember. Maybe somebody is slipping my mind last year.

To be fair getting to down on the team because they get beat on the road against the hottest team in baseball is not smart either. Although that kind of defends the point that they are average. I don't care if the Phillies are on a 20 game win streak. You have to beat good teams on the road in the postseason and the Cubs have failed to do that all season. -
I'd be all for going the other direction, becoming a seller and starting over next year. It's obvious that if we happen to run up against the Phillies in the playoffs, it isn't going to be pretty. Of course becoming a seller would assume that the Cubs had anyone that was sellable. They have a whole team full of $50 bags of Skittles. Sell who? Soriano? Sorry, five more years. Bradley? Two more. Fuku? another year. D-Lee? NTC. Aram? Your best "clutch" hitter when healthy. Jim Hendry has built one of the most incompetent MLB clubs per dollar. It's a disaster that really can't be fixed. The Mariners were even worse last year with a worse payroll and they're playing pretty damn well this season.

The Cubs will take 2 of 3 this weekend against the Reds and some Cub fans will be back on the playoff train. This team isn't good and this team's manager isn't good. -
