I legitimately can't decide whether umpires have always been this inconsistent and we are just more aware of it now due the amount of information (Pitch Trax, etc.) that is available to us. Or are umpires truly calling games more inconsistently now than they have in the past? I made a comment at the beginning of the season that umpiring was really good last season. I think many agreed. How can we have these people sterilized?
