My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw some post on twitter that said FOX 2 News in St. Louis is reporting that the Cubs are the third team that offered a 10-year deal. I guess it's pretty serious.

I wouldn't be too terribly nervous about anything if the source is ChicagoNow.com. Sure, they're a subsidiary of the Tribune, but half of the "journalists" on that blog are lucky if they spell everything correctly. Somehow, I don't think they're going to be the ones to break any serious news on this, or on any other story for that matter.

The last picture my second cousin ever posted on his Facebook page was Ronnie's number 10. It was just after Ronnie had passed away, and it was the day before he too passed away. I know two people that loved the Cubs more than just about anything that are clicking their heels in the great beyond this morning. Miss ya, Kent. Give my regards to #10.

It shouldn't make a [expletive] difference in regard to how people of varying political persuasions should feel about the Theo Epstein/Jed Hoyer/Jason McLeod hirings. We're all Cubs fans. We should all be elated that the team we live and die with has finally decided to seriously pursue a championship. If anyone would like to debate the social, political, or economic ramifications of these hirings within the dynamics of the current protest movement, feel free to do so at Rick Telander's house, the third Tuesday of every month. Let's not do it here. Here is where we unite ourselves via our love for the Cubs.

Well it also wouldn't hurt or cost anything for you to write Jessica Alba and ask her to go out with you. So why not go for it? It might cost me a lot in alimony since my wife wouldn't approve. It's ok. I've heard rumors she has teh herps anyway. -
I remember when I was in college, one afternoon in '98 while sitting on the couch watching a Cubs game with a certain sort of tubular device being passed amongst friends, Steve Stone remarked, "The fog just keeps rolling in and out of right field. Kinda reminds me of my college years..."
