  1. What did he say? "u got guys wearing elbow armor that had surgery on it 10 years ago"
  2. that's cuz we're tiger fans. class of '00 right here
  3. they must be having a tough day, cuz i could swear that they hate the cubs more. between strike zones changing on an inning by inning basis, tossing cubs pitchers without warning, catchers tagging with elbows and players still being called out, etc i'd say the cubs have a pretty solid case for the blue hating them
  4. how much u wanna bet hawk makes dan patrick's "homer call of the week"?
  5. it wouldn't have mattered. izturis would've grounded into a dp right there
  6. Hill had periods of total shakiness and periods of total dominance. Marshall was consisently spotting well. overall, I think Hill probably has to get the nod as the defense did alot to bail Marshall out today. but overall a really tough comparison. I agree. It seemed there were a few balls hit by both sides that would have been homers on another day, too. Only Soriano's monster shot made it out of the ballpark. Good defense definitely helped Sean today. But hey -- he's here to give us innings and gut out some victories where & when he can, so he's doing a good job IMO. 6 2/3 innings of shutout ball is always good regardless of how good the defense was behind them. i couldn't agree with ya' more
  7. Marshall was throwing fine, and Dempster is not available. This was a dumb change. didn't the sox go like 1-66 against someone's bullpen last week? not saying he shoulda pulled him, but going from a soft tossing lefty to a hard throwing righty might just put the dagger in a team that clearly can't adjust to new pitchers. they weren't doing crap against the guy who was in there already hey, i said i didn't agree with the choice, but i can see where they got their inclination to do so. we also don't know if marshall said something to lou or larry when he was in the dugout last time. he didn't seem to argue too much when lou came out for him.

  10. he wanted to show jim edmonds that someone could make routine plays look more interesting then he could...good job pagan
  11. he just guns people...awful mechanics, but he gets it done
  12. Dude he is gonna maybe hit 10 homers this year. Maybe. wonder if his neck is more problematic than most think. that's way off his career numbers
  13. when is soto coming up? is his shoulder still jacked up?
  14. 2nd ugliest slide ever behind randy johnson's slide into 2nd a few years back
  15. not to add fuel to the fire, but i know shooter lives here (phoenix) and it would make sense about the two kids. he has two daughters that live here with him as well. i met him at the phoenix airport. i was sitting next to his ex-nanny on a flight back from sacramento and she introduced me to him and we huffed down a couple of heaters while waiting for our luggage. i loved the shooter
  16. nobody underachieved more than christian laetner. just in case everyone forgot, he was on the dream team in '92
  17. and dwight smith but 89 was a fun year (until that whole ending bit against the Giants, that is) 1984 was the year that still haunts me personally - that was the team of destiny with some veterans having career years at the end of their playing days and a mix of young exciting players. I still can't believe it wasn't the Cubs vs. Tigers in the 84 WS. earlier this year i was in caesar's palace. i was with a date walking around the shops at the forum and the sports store there had steve garvey signing autographs just inside the front door at a table. the employee standing in front of the store trying to draw people in came up to me and my date and said "would you like an autograph by steve garvey?" to which i replied with my lips pursed like josey wales, "f*k no i don't want an autograph by that piece of s*t." garvey just stared at me from inside and said "cubs fan?" with a grin, and i said "f*ing right". he just laughed. even steve garvey knows how big of a hoax '84 was for the dirty padres.
  18. Konerko has to be the slowest man in baseball, if not the world. can't be slower than bernie kosar. he used to make dan marino look like ben johnson after a 500cc's of d-bol Daryle Ward just stopped by to say hello happy gilmore's boss, mr. larson, says hello back

  20. ripken's consecutive game streak won't ever be touched
  21. my buddy hit a hole in one using john daley. the best part was that he was too high to get off the couch, so he swung the wii controller from his sitting position and canned it...amazing You're thinking of Tiger Woods golf. yep it was tiger woods golf...he was using daley though
