  1. Someone posted it after the pine tar story but I don't know what the lies are.
  2. CUBS WIN!!!!! Hopefully the start of a 9 game winning streak.
  3. If someone else came in, this would be one of your save situations (I think)
  4. I wouldn't mind him falling apart in September.
  5. - If a pitcher enters the game in the 8th with the lead being 3 runs or less and pitches a scoreless inning and then his team increases the lead beyond save parameters, the pitcher can still get the save if he finishes the game. - If a pitcher enters the game in the 9th with the tying run either at the plate or on deck and finishes it, he can get the save. Add to that if a pitcher pitches 3 innings that there is a save. That is how there was a save in the 30 to whatever game last year.
  6. I hope that first pitch is not a sign of things to come.
  7. If the tying run is on deck than it is a save situation. So bases loaded with a 5 run lead is would be a save situation
  8. Let me preface this by saying that Wuertz should be brought back up ASAP. But he was sent down in large part because he hadn't pitched well since the middle of May. At some points in there, he had some strange usage patterns, and at other points he didn't. But he was pretty bad for about a 40 day stretch and his last 15 appearances in the majors or so. How has he done in comparison to Howry in that stretch though?
  9. It's 10-0 without all those runs the D-backs scored. The Cubs are also undefeated if you take out all the times they were.....defeated. Cubs haven't played a game if they didn't play those games. CUBS are 0/0 on days they are not scheduled to play. Go CUBS !! well played

  11. I don't see any reason why Young would have no success against Howry.
  12. Eh, the Marlins have always given us trouble. And that was when they were supposed to suck, this year they aren't bad. We've played amazing at home though.
  13. I thought we won 2/3 last year. Maybe it was just one though.
  14. I want the Wrigley magic to come back and have this be the start of a 5 game win streak going in the Brew Crew series.
  15. Hey, this is fun, the last couple of games made me forget the joy of having a lead and being confident about a win.
  16. I remember a grand slam taking place in SF. It was awesome.
  17. I hope the Cubs start playing well again. This is a good start for that to happen.
  18. If we hit the ball as deep as we have in this series back at Wrigley, the good Cubs will make a come-back.
  19. that's not a bad thing. I much rather have reasonable pitch counts. I bet if CC would be with Milwaukee next year he would have zero CG's. Of course Yost is their manager so who knows.
