  1. Those are kind of my thoughts on Iowa, their schedule. Iowa's good so, yeah, my fear it most likely unfounded but I can't help but see a path to 8-10 (which is the record that could keep them out.) More or less, it boils down to I got burnt by not making it for so long and by Alford's teams choking. I've also hyped myself up to the point where I think this team can be more than just a tourney team (still could.) Ultimately, a couple more wins against good teams will make me rest easier (I'm sure we'll beat at least OSU at home and they still play Michigan and Wisconsin at home too.) The close losses to good teams are rough, tells me we're pretty good and once again (just like last year) our record doesn't really reflect how good this team could be.
  2. At home with both Dawson and Payne out, Iowa almost has to win that game, imo. I overreact, a lot but I still don't feel safe about a tournament birth yet. I'm sure we'll still be a lock easily but a win tonight would have made me feel extremely comfortable. The conference title hopes just took a major, major hit though. Really though we had a shot.
  3. Yep, that one hurts a lot.
  4. I hate being an Iowa fan. How do you not have a field goal for over 13 minutes?
  5. I hate college basketball refs.
  6. Playing like crap and up 4 over the number 7 team (albeit a depleted one.) Could be worse.
  7. Whelp, Iowa is looking tight as hell tonight.
  8. How did Michigan lose to Charlotte?
  9. Playing at Northwestern always makes me nervous and they're doing a good job of making this game ugly.
  10. Iowa's shown they can compete with nearly every team home or away for a couple of years now (well, except Michigan last year.) I'm not sure what to expect. Michigan looks like they're figuring it out now that the B1G season has started and Stauskas terrifies me. This would be a big one for Iowa to get if they want the conference title.
  11. Sherman was entertaining and made for good TV. I'm just not really a fan of kicking a man when he's down. The racial component is kind of annoying.
  12. I don't really care about the interview though it was insane, I think it's kind of lame to taunt a player on a play with that much at stake.
  13. Sherman's a prick.
  14. I don't understand why that's not reviewable. Doesn't matter though (aside from the leg that's now in 2 pieces)
  15. Iowa falls down 10 points in the last 2 minutes of the first half and proceeds to outscore Minnesota by 31 points. Tough game at Michigan on Wednesday.
  16. Marble and White have 1 point combined at Iowa's only down 2 at half. Could be worse I guess.
  17. You should be banned from the tournament if you lose to this Northwestern team at home.
  18. I'm not really sure that Ohio State is one of the 10 best teams in the country or even one of the 15 best but it's so nice to see Iowa finally get over the hump and get a signature win.
  19. I'm on the "I can't stand rooting against my team so I guess I'm anti-tanking" side and even I can see how others could complain about that. Yeah, I get tanking. It makes sense to tank in a lot of ways and I was for it when Rose went down again but at this point I like basketball a lot. The Bulls are my team and I'm not going to root against my team for 50 games. Hey, maybe we can the first true underdog NBA champion in, like, ever!
  20. It's nice to be good enough to still get points nearly every game even when you're in a bit of a funk.
  21. Pretty sure it's Dierdorf (I'm only watching it intermittently) and he's kind of known for being a meathead dumbass.
  22. probably there was a question as to whether there was a forward pass by the punter. I was thinking that maybe they thought his knee touched on the 1 or something but that makes more sense.
  23. Why did it take forever for the refs to rule that?
  24. Even if Northwestern is really, really, really bad, it's still nice to blow out a conference opponent when you are supposed to.
  25. Yeah, it's just another signature win screwed up because of lack of composure (this time the coach really fucked it up.) If the coach can't keep his composure under duress it's not tough to see why the team has some issues doing so. Nights like tonight make me miss the apathy that Lickliter's teams created (not really thought)
