Thats because Kendall leaned into it, and our announcers aren't huge homers like the Sox ones. Well yeah, I knew why he did it... Not real sure why Kendall did that though...we needed the RBI. Because he realizes he sucks and can't get any rbi's? Yeah he used up his two hits for the week yesterday. As long as Kendall continues to get on base I'm not going to complain. At least he turned the order over. Yup.
It's quite simple really. Last year in the second half Murton put up this line, .319/.390/.522, that is All Star level production and better than any Cubs OF in a very long time. He did similar things in the minors. He has patience at the plate and gets on base, unlike the Cubs in general. And he's very young, and very cheap, so he could fill a position with above average production at well below average cost, allowing them to spend big in other areas. I really don't understand how hard it is to see why people like Murton. Okay. I really don't remember the second half of last year so I didn't know Murton produced like that. But I do know this season, he was struggling with his patience at the plate and at one point he was pretty much an automatic out.
I don't understand the infatuation with Murton around here. (I hope I'm using that word correctly  ) I wasn't around here last year but I'm curious to know if you guys are just in love with the guy or you like seeing the occasional ground ball up the middle.
okay I think I got all the details... Cubs trade Pie, Kroeger, Ramirez, DeRosa, Marquis (he was pulled after 5 too!!) and recieve Griffey, Tex, Ryan Braun, Ryan Church, and Chad Cordero. Does that sound right?
