Well the World Series includes one AL team and one NL team. Baseball is nothing like basketball where the best team will win most of the time. When you get to the playoffs, anything can happen. Also, we aren't the ones working the phones so whos there to say it's right there for the taking.

well so much for pushing us over the top, I guess Hendry would rather settle for being right around .500 and hopeing to make the playoffs instead of making a move to push us over the top. Team isn't exactly hovering around .500 anymore... check the standings you are wrong. They are yet to reach 10 over, all it takes is a 3-4 game losing streak and they are right back down there. Add a 4 or 5 game winning streak and they have the best record in the NL. Gotta look at it both ways...

There isn't a realistic option for SS or C in the trading market. However the OF must be improved. If Griffey or Dunn aren't available, Cubs really need to grab a Torii Hunter. Sure we could make the playoffs without a move, but how far could we go compared to the Dodgers, Mets, or Braves?

A 5-2 home stand would be very respectable, especially considering it's the Mets and the Phillies coming in. Respectable? A 5-2 homestand is awesome if it's against the Nationals and Pirates. If it's against the Mets and Phillies, it's nothing short of fantastic. ...
