  1. I'd love to have Shannon on board. Love it!
  2. A guess or a report you heard somewhere? ESPN1000 In that case, I have a bad feeling Pie's going to head back down once the DL stint is over. I'm also not sure that there's any guarantee he'll be playing much.
  3. They aren't a top 4 NL team by any stretch, but they could still very easily make the playoffs. Pythagoras says we are. Only to people who don't understand them. Enlighten me please. The difference between the non-Mets contenders (under any measure) is not enough to say the Cubs aren't a top 4 team by any stretch. My guess is that he's saying the metric doesn't take into account that A. guys like Marquis overachieved early, and their struggles will continue to bring the metrics toward mediocrity. B. Soriano is hurt.
  4. what? +1. Eh? Case in point, it takes more than muscles to hit Homeruns. how long was Barry allegedly on the drug? We don't know Did Barry use anything other than "the Clear" or "the Cream" for any legitamite period of time? We don't know. So just stop accusing Bonds of everything that you can't prove damnit. Yes Bonds was on insulin, EPO, and horse/cow steroids in addition to the cream and clear from at least 2001-2003, the biggest years of his career. You don't think we know? The evidence is far beyond a reasonable doubt. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/magazine/03/06/growth0313/index.html Yes it takes more than muscles to hit homeruns. But when you add steroids to his already hall of fame ability, you get monster numbers. These numbers skyrocketed after hsi career was winding down. Why did he take them? He was jealous of Sammy and McGwire. Bottom Line: He NEVER failed a steroid test in his life. He's the only player in both the 400-400 club and 500-500 club, that's amazing. I'm ending all arguements on my side. He admitted it. That's more than enough for me. He'd be one of the best of all time without steroids. He wouldn't have the record.
  5. Only chance Murton would get to play everyday. Don't be so sure. He could do DeRo in in right and Jacque in left. After Soriano went down and Murton still didn't play, it became pretty clear he's just not going to get a chance no matter what. Anyway, my money is on JJ having been traded.
  6. I don't care what the lineup is as long as Felix is in it.
  7. I know! I haven't been able to keep up with what the Yankees and Red Sox are doing with all this Barry Bonds talk.
  8. I know! I mean, the fact that his defense hasn't gotten better every single year since he's been here says a lot about how hard he works.
  9. Someone should tell Lou Jacque Jones and Cliff Floyd haven't hit homers in ages. It goes by whoever hit a home run most recently. Now, it's Murton. He gets to start until unseated by Floyd or Jacque.
  10. It's a shame it had to come to this. Barry could have been remembered moderately fondly as one of the best hitters of his generation, but he had to taint his career and the best record in sports.
  11. And as injured as Mauer has been in his career, I'd take him over Prior. I don't think there's a person on earth that wouldn't, including Prior's overprotective dad.
  12. Why do we have to choose? Maybe they both will.
  13. Please. They all suck equally tonight. You really think the fans in Wrigley are going to give Eric much of a chance? Corey and Eric are completely different players - at different points in their careers. unfortunately most of the people at the game are morons and don't know a thing about him... they'll just say "OH NO IT'S COREY 2.0" I give our fans more credit than that.
  14. Just like your brother. Losers.
  15. Eric Patterson hasn't caught a cold yet. Come on, Corey.
  16. That would have been a double play last time. Granted, that gets us a run, but things wouldn't have worked the same.
  17. So many baserunners, so little time. No way Jacque gets this done.
  18. i don't think he can. wouldn't that be a balk? I believe so, yes.
  19. I'd rather Rammy get nights off than have a lineup without him and Soriano for an extended period of time.
  20. I can't remember out last homer. It should be easy considering how few we hit, shouldn't it? Way to nearly screw up that pickoff play. The execution of that play seems to indicate how the Cubs are going. If it works, they're good. If it goes into the outfield... they're the Cubs.
  21. Good thing we capitalized big on the bases loaded no out situation and still have the lead.
  22. Nice double play. Riot's becoming a pretty decent shortstop.
  23. I just got here, so I might as well post that the top of the 1st was downright embarrassing.
  24. Garner's gonna pull his hair out when it comes to bullpen management! Win!
