  1. If it weren't for the DH on Sunday, then I would be surprised if they didn't go with 11 pitchers. But because of that, I'm afraid they will stick with 12. We do have an off day on Thursday, though.
  2. They could give up that silly notion and just send Hart and Shark down. That would be a possibility too. I was really thinking more of the idea of cutting back to 11 pitchers than which pitcher would go down. That is what I was guessing, but I think someone said that Patton should be right near (or maybe at) the 90 days of service he needs to have on the major league roster to satisfy the Rule 5 requirements. Meaning he could go on the DL clearing a roster spot.
  3. That looks good to me.
  4. I know it hasn't been officially announced yet, but does anyone want to speculate as to who the Cubs might throw for the DH on Sunday? I am making the trip up north from Texas and will be in the bleachers for both games. If they follow the normal rotation, it looks like it would be Wells and Dempster. But with the day off on Thursday and the AS break coming right after, any chance they throw Z on short rest?
  5. DLee is really the one who deserves to go, but there are too many good first basemen in the NL for that to happen.
  6. I think the Brewers are going to kill us. Every time someone says this, the inevitable opposite happens. There, does that offset the optimism that is sure to jinx the Cubs?
  7. I blame Brenly's baseball shoes for today's loss. If he doesn't wear them tomorrow, we should win the series.
  8. TWO OUT RALLY TIME! WE ARE GOING TO WIN THIS GAME!
  9. How about we spend that money on a big mothertrucking bat? That's what I'd do. As much as I'd love to add Peavy to the team, starting pitching is the least of our concerns right now. A bat and another bullpen arm rank higher on the list of needs.
  10. Why do you distinguish between "home games" and "Wrigley"? Did I miss another game at Wrigley North?
  11. All those moves sound good to me. It would also be awesome if we could find away to sneak Aaron Miles into a deal for a bullpen arm. Maybe other teams don't realize he's Aaron Miles... Trade him to St. Louis for DeRosa.
  12. Ooh, a fellow Aggie. Very nice. With that being said, I don't expect much out of him.
  13. I went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the first game of the big 4 game Milwaukee series last year that ended in a Cubs sweep and got the team going, so I will be returning there for tonight's game.
  14. Maybe they can DL Patton for a while with some mysterious injury or Dontrelle-like brain issues.
  15. Blanco overall: .231/.286/.282/.568 Baker overall: .257/.313/.458/ .771 Blanco v lefties: .263/.300/.316/.616 Baker v lefties: .279/.343/.559/.902 I'd say yes. Where are those stats from? ESPN seems to think Baker is hitting .130 this year. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=5371
  16. Bruce seemed to indicate that Patton's days as a Cub might finally be over.
  17. Is this guy going to be an upgrade over what Blanco gave us at 2B?
  18. You're right. It must be all that passion he has for his teammates that he doesn't talk to or feel close to.
  19. Milton Bradley has acted like he cares He has? People who don't care don't scream at umps when calls go against them, excitedly flip their bat when they walk, or smash water coolers or throw their helmets when they do poorly. Whatever has been ailing Bradley this season, having passion is certainly not a problem for him. But is it passion for the team or passion for his own benefit?
  20. Milton Bradley has acted like he cares He has?
  21. Does anyone have any statistics for how the team hits/fields/chews gum before & after Lousplosions?
  22. LOVE the Hossa signing, but it sounds like that means Havlat is gone. That sucks.
  23. That's really clever. btw, you sure do complain a lot. Are you Richard Simmons or something? Have you ever thought that maybe people are complaining a lot because there is a lot to complain about with this team?
