    This made me feel slightly better, thanks. Why can't we play Fuk or Colvin in CF. Byrd is not a full time starter.. Disagree, I think Byrd's a full time starter just not a #3 hitter.

    Have to agree with this. Yeah Castro's descision not to eat the ball was costly but Marmol gave up a walk and a single. His job is to shut them down and he didn't.

    Ricketts has overplayed his hand. Ticket prices have gone from merely unreasonable to absolutely obscene. If you look back at some of the old games they sometimes show on CSN with Harry they will celebrate 25K in attendance and 2 million for the season. I wonder if in a few years we may go back to that.

    I've seen this true with Rangers games as well. One thing to remember about teams like the Rangers and Royals is that they don't have a capped off ticket base like the Cubs and Red Sox and other teams like that. So, even though they have put single game seats on sale, they are still trying to add season ticket holders. To do so, they have to have seats to sell to those. So, they have held seats backs to offer as season ticket seats and mini-plan seats. They will even hold those into the season as they can say you can sit in this seat for the remainder of the season as a season ticket holder. As those games get closer and they still haven't sold those packages, they release seats. I can completely see that Vance. Just now looked up when the Twins ind. tickets go on sale. It's March 19th. I guess they are waiting till the last possible moment for ST and partial ST people to sign up.

    Currently there is no way Vegas gets a team. Maybe the worst economy in the country right now outside of maybe the Detroit metro. But in the future I think it scares the major leagues as been said by another poster.

    The thing is once they put the 42 game limit on, the fans had a fighting shot to get tickets at a decent price if they had a clue to what they were doing and planned ahead. Instead of saying hey lets go to a ball game the day of the game. Now we are all overpaying.

    In regard to Royals tickets you may want to check later in the year. Last year I was trying to get tix for target field in Minny when their ind. Tix went on sale. All they had was really bad seats for summer weekends. Checked around mid april & could get a much bigger choice of tix. If I remember correctly I think I ended up seeing them play the white sox in the end of july. Made it easy to cheer for the twins. :lol:

    Do you have a free room for any BW? There is a best western within walking distance of Wrigley. Even one in Downtown. I believe so. It's my buddy doing all the hotel checking since he is the one getting the free room. Does the best western new wrigley have a 2 night minimum. Everywhere he has called near there has told him he needed to at least get 2 nights Not sure if it's a 2 night min. But it has become kind of expensive there. So I wouldn't doubt it.

    Si, I remember back when we were excited for baseball and this thread would be the highlight of the spring. Oh well. The board is more or less a clubhouse for our long time posters anyways. I don't think our recognition among the Cubs internet community is anything near where it was 3 years ago. I'd guess Tim could probably confirm by looking at new registrants from 2005 to now. I noticed this too. I'm not a regular around here in fact it's probably been 6 months since I came here. I do remember GDT would go easily 20 pages and ticket thread was about the same 3 years ago. This used to be known as the place to go for cubs talk. Doesn't have that same feel.
