  1. So I recently moved to KC and going to Sporting games is the thing to do. Went to the match against Cruz Azul. It was my first pro soccer game at any level (not counting the Sting back in the day), and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the game. But I know almost nothing about MLS. I've gathered bits and pieces that KC plays a defensive style, maybe the MLS equivalent of the Nashville Predators? Are they favorites or even contenders to repeat? My wife gets tickets often through work and we're going again in a few weeks. Looking forward to it.
  2. I'm sure I don't have to tell you this. Blues fans may be devoted, but they're not the brightest bunch.
  3. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I don't recall the league handing out suspensions for "garden variety" knee-on-knee hits where no injury results. http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/brent-seabrook-hit-on-david-backes-costs-chicago-a-win-will-he-be-suspended/ I don't know who this guy is, but I like his optimism.
  4. That's a good point about the forwards, and that could change if Backes is out because he and Toews cancel each other out so well. So since Seabrook is going to get a few, I hope Backes is at least out a few too. As for Jersey's comment about caring too much about STL, obviously I lived there for a long time and their fans are annoying, Blues less than Cards but still. And Blues fans don't realize or don't care (I think they do realize and it makes them mad) that our rival was Detroit, not them.
  5. I feel like if we ever beat the Cards in the NLCS and even won the World Series, their fans would still mock and point to their 13 titles or whatever they have. So I'll try the same approach. Which bums me out because I typically root for the Blues when they aren't playing the Hawks.
  6. Yeah it's terrible. 17 seconds...17 seconds...
  7. Herb Brooks needs to talk to the boys. Play. Your. Game.
  8. So you're telling me there's a chance.
  9. I wouldn't care if he was out for the playoffs and some of the next regular season. They have to get rid of this stuff in hockey. Okay you made your point. But I'd rather my team win another cup.
  10. Well no question we gotta win this game to have any chance. And then the top five D are going to play a ton of minutes. So, what ya got, Rundblad or Brookbank? I wish Kostka was an option.
  11. Well we got two fortunate bounces, and then made our bed ten times over. Hard to argue with what happened.
  12. I disagree Backes was low. You are incredibly wrong. I'm not saying it wasn't a dirty hit, but it was worse because Backes was lower. And I know I said at first it was clean. But he left his feet on replay.
  13. Well at least we can ice the puck the rest of the game.
  14. I disagree Backes was low.
  15. Time for the five minute kill like 2010 game 5 vs. Nashville.
  16. Point of contact was head but he was falling.
  17. If we don't get a penalty out of this we are very lucky.
  18. Okay yeah clearly left his feet.
