Dirt Dog, who's your source on Reds' ownership demands?

I'd trade anyone outside of Felix Pie (in the minors, I'm talking about) for Dunn. I'm not sure what I think about Soriano and I'm inclined to like Kearns. If Hendry can't change LF today with a significant improvement, this team has no chance at all of reaching the playoffs.

If I were a Reds' fan, I'd be furious. I'd trade Pena or Kearns for some young pitching, though this might be a precursor to an offseason deal that ships Casey and Dunn to Houston.

My guess is there won't be a major deal. I've read all the Reds' beat writers today and O'Brien is consistently adamant that he's not dealing Dunn, Kearns or Pena, that there isn't a taker on Casey and that Griffey is a 10-5 guy who he hasn't even approached yet. There's still time, sure, but I'd say a trade with the Reds is doubtful.

Bruce is easily the best Cubs beat writer. As a fellow journalist, I enjoy his work a lot. By the way, Bruce, if you're reading, I'd love to get you on my radio show sometime. There are a lot of Cubs fans down here as well as a lot of people who are Braves fans who hate the Cubs.
