  1. Hey, guess what player ranked immediately behind Murton in GB/FB ratio last year in all the NL? Jacque Jones. I guess he becomes a light hitting OF too... since your only qualification for that seems to be that he "can't hit past the infield." And his arm is too inaccurate to be a RF and his range is too poor to be a CF. That pretty much means he can't play anything else besides LF. Just ask any Twins scout. Did I say anything about Jacque Jones dickwad? Jones at least has some HR power and is better defensively in RF. He can actually get to the balls and catch them. yea, his arm Sox. If it was up to me, I'd get another RF. But Murton isn't the answer. Yeah, you're not going to be around here too much longer.
  2. Ronny: I like how Zambrano was rounding second...trying to get to second.
  3. Murton has to hit 3 grand slams to make up for this. In this game.
  4. A- Corey isnt worth that much. His lifetime OBP is lower than Neifi Perez's now. The guy is just a bum. B- We thankfully dont need more OFs. C- I would become a Cardinal fan. (ok, i wouldnt...but i would be very very angry.) On a happy note, Jon Leicester was one of the guys brought up to replace some of the Orioles DL cats. Nice to see him reappear after some serious type surgery. Hopefully he will do well. yeah, he's a "bum" for not having a .400 OBP. man, he must eat fetuses in his spare time. i bet he's the cause of global warming, too! watch out everyone.... corey patterson is coming to eat your children, even those that are still in the womb. he and that "headcase" kyle farnsworth will probably team up. what will we do? Overreact much?
  5. Maybe Aramis can come out of his mini slump here.
  6. lol I'm right here, friend. So he played a ball badly. Clearly this means he should never play. Murton is still the 4th, 5th, or 6th best hitter on this team, and he'll only get better. You make me sick. Every time Murton gets a hit, I certainly don't use that one AB to make the case that he should play. Instead I use his hundreds of ML ABs as reference. Go play with Legos or something. I don't agree with that guy. I thought his post was hilarious.
  7. Have you ever had a measured reaction to anything? They called up Pagan because they assume he will hit LHP because he is a switch hitter yet was horrible vs. lefties last season. Again I say, this organization is a complete joke. I'll take that as a no. Please, inform me and my un-measured reaction, why calling up Pagan is a good move? He hits LHP no better than Pie, and is fraction of the defensive player that Pie is. If Pagan hit LHP well than I could see it. The key to the move is sending Pie back to AAA to play everyday. Pagan is far from ideal. But Pie had to get off the bench. Of course. There is no reason to have the Cubs best prospect sitting on the bench when he needs to be getting regular at bats. He was clearly overmatched at the plate at the major league level so starting him regularly would have hurt the team. Pagan is going to be a part time player and like you said, he has hit LHP pretty well in AAA this year. It's the right move to make. I don't think you can say Pie was "clearly overmatched" when the only thing clear was that he wasn't getting enough PA to get going. I think he wasn't ready. He took one walk in 49 at bats. He was doing well in this regard in AAA and then when he was called up he regressed considerably. It's a small sample size, but he was really bad when he was here.

  12. Let the overreaction to Pagan being called up...BEGIN!
  13. I hate people sometimes. It really pissed me off. It was a picture perfect night and the field looked beautiful. The Cubs just won. Why would you trash your own field after a win? The bolded part probably sums it up best. They are selfish people. They probably don't think twice about littering anywhere, the type of guy who unwraps his cigarette box and lets the plastic fly. They spent their childhoods being told how special they are and took it to the extreme later in life. All that matters is their personal level of enjoyment. I don't mean to imply there is ever a good reason to trash the field but there was seemingly no reason at all for it. "I was mad at the call and threw my beer without thinking", or something like that I can at least understand where someone is coming from. This was just littering the field for the sake of being a penis. It was an attitude of "F this place I'm outta here." It bummed me out.

  15. Notes from the game: We arrived 10 mins late and missed the only run of the game. I'd also like to point out that I called this on the way over to the game. If it wasn't for work.... Soriano hams it up a bit with the fans in left field. He looks like he enjoys being a Cub. We ended up with really great seats. The bleachers were packed but we managed to find some seats 3 rows back in left field. I have never sat that close from the bleachers and it was really cool and a really good view. I may have changed my mind about the bleachers... After the win, a bunch of people threw their beers onto the field. I don't know if this is some kind of bleacher tradition but I thought it was really lame. Not only were they trashing up the field, there was beer left in some of those cups.
