  1. At least he wasn't Aaron Miles/Jose Macias/Freddy Bynum/the list goes on bad
  2. If our bench consists solely of those guys, that would be awful. The bench shouldn't just be for AAAA players. I'd appreciate some sort of veteran presence who understands the role of a pinch hitter for $1-2 million in addition to those listed. These are guys whop could have been major leaguers but have been onthe wrong team. Besides, weve already tried veteran bench guys. How did Ryan Freel, Aaron Miles, Joey Gathright, Rey Ordonez, Neifi Perez, John Mabry, Enrique Wilson and a few other journeymen I cant think of work out? Fox gives us a 6th oufielder, occasional 3B and 1B, emergency catcher+pop off the bench Hoffpauir gives us a 5th outfielder+backup for Lee+lefty pop off the bench Blanco gives us a great defensive SS/2B plus can hit better than Miles Fuld gives us a great defensive 4th outfielder+ a solid lefty off the bench Fontenot gives us a platoon for Baker if he cant cut it as a starter I want to know what cheap journeyman is out there that will be enough of an upgrade to make it worth out while? Even Bobby Scales is a better option than paying 2-3 mil for another journeyman. Excellent post, although as much as we hate to admit it, Neifi was good for us and the other guys really were never all that good anyway. The only signings that worked out for the bench were Daryle Ward and Reed Johnson. The bench right now is good enough with what we have - that I agree with.
  3. I credit him with Mark DeRosa and successfully fixing Andruw Jones
  4. See now I got Brown, Brown, DeShields and Hundley funny how things work

  9. I'm pretty sure Bellhorn's thing wasn't in 2004. I'm pretty sure Bellhorn wasn't on the team in 2004. Wasn't that 2002?
  10. Too bad the Cubs one is ugly... I still will probably buy one not sure of my head size though, I usually don't buy fitted...
  11. I can't remember if it was this game or the game the next day vs. the Reds (I was at both). But I remember the score being 0-0 or 1-0 and Sammy was up with the bases loaded and 2 outs, and he hit a towering fly ball and everyone in the park thought he hit a grand slam, but Kearns jumped up and caught the ball while banging into the ivy. It was like maybe 5 feet from being a granny. Blah. And there was another game (in the 5 gamer vs. the Cards) when the same thing happened to Ramon Martinez. Sosa would hit a walkoff in the 14th.
  12. That was against St Louis in extra innings. (In STL) Not that I doubt you, but do you remember which game it was? All I remember is still up relatively late watching the game, which I believe went into extras. http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-134493847.html 7-24-05
  13. -Neifi's slam was in STL as mentioned -Bellhorn moment was 2002

  15. DISCLAIMER: Yes, I know you could make a longer and more accurate video of the 2009 season with Alfonso Soriano dropped flyballs, Milton Bradley throwing the ball into the stands, Zambrano throwing fits, and Soto looking at called strike 3s... hahaha you are a true comedian This video is intended to hit on the bright spots of 2009 and reinforce the hope that someday... well you know the rest... enjoy: http://www.sendspace.com/file/r3tr1u
