  1. I honestly think this Little League stuff is exactly what the Cubs need. Nothing wrong with a reminder of the fun at the center of the game they play.
  2. Win or lose, Counsell has absolutely overused Hader and it’s showing.
  3. Brewers and Cardinals play a series starting Monday so someone will be losing a game each day, which I think is good.
  4. Hader’s gonna blow it in the bottom.
  5. Glorious meltdown by the Brewers pen in DC as well.
  6. Maybe in order for us to overcome the road demons, we have to win a 1-0 game, getting out of a jam every inning.
  7. There’s no chance we won’t get wild Chatwood here. Absolutely zero.
  8. Lester pitching like he knows he can’t allow even one run. So as a result, big inning coming and that will be that.
  9. 5 straight balls to start the inning and swing at a bad pitch for a DP...
  10. I’m going to try optimism on for size... BDJ is going to buckle down today and throw a CGSO. Tomorrow is basically a neutral game, we win that and end the road series drought. Tuesday we resume rolling at home. Let’s do this.
  11. It definitely seems like the majority of the blown saves have come from Joe getting cute with matchups in the 8th/9th innings. There are only a precious few relievers in the league that can perform well in dirty innings. If Maddon somehow survives this season, he might be saved by the impending three batter minimum.
  12. No, it’s why you don’t load the bases. The Moran at bat was the issue.
  13. Every player on this team is afraid. They’re scared they’re going to screw up, they’re waiting for something to go wrong, wondering how they’re going to lose. It’s pretty amazing that Maddon somehow let this culture develop three years removed from a championship but he is the problem. And he has to go.
