If Addison got help, fundamentally changed and grew and bettered as a person, father, co-parent and significant other than there is no doubt the Cubs did the right thing for Addison Russell and his family. Would that have happened if he had been cut and picked up by another team? Who knows. We as fans have every right to be upset about it, but I'd rather me be upset about him being on the team and him not being abusive then have him on some other team and potentially continuing his abusive behavior. edit - just for clarification sake, I don't want him on the team and haven't wanted him on the team since Melissa came forward. But I'm open to the possibility that the Cubs are actually doing the right thing.
