So we have an Owner (Tom) a President (Kenney) and a GM (Hoyer), can't we just tell Boston here's the offer take it or leave it. What can they do? If they are crazy and do the worst case scenario I'm confident Hoyer can start the revolution without Theo.

How do the Cubs have more of a sense of urgency? The Cubs just had a crap season, and have no expectations for next season. The Red Sox just crapped the bed with what was suppose to be an all time great team. The Cubs have an interim GM, and a manager. The Red Sox have two GMs each with one foot in the door and one foot out, and no manager. Sure it would be nice for the Cubs to get moving, but they can afford to wait more than the Sox IMO.

The last two years when many thought he was being a crappy owner he was just letting the team purge itself. Amazing brain trust (almost) in place and they are going to have only 2 years of Soriano after this season inherited.
