    dream scenario NLDS - beat Marlins (kill the Marlins have never lost a playoff series thing, '03 payback) NLCS - beat Giants (kill the even year thing) World Series - who cares also nice to avoid Washington and New York's rotations (though I think New York is already out of it)

    I was looking for magic number for a playoff spot not the division... or is it the same because the Cardinals are the top team not currently in a playoff spot?

    yeah it's hard to tell, they celebrated like some teams celebrate a World Series win after a loss on the day after they technically clinched the 2nd wild card, and also celebrate almost as hard as people celebrate clinching a division after every win so who knows.
