With many upset at the Cubs' lack of movement on catcher Willson Contreras, the acquisition of Brown was somewhat under the radar. However, by the e...449Fri, 17 Nov 2023 13:18:00 +0000https://northsidebaseball.com/news-rumors/cubs-minor-league/cubs-winter-top-prospects-rankings-8-moises-ballesteros-r444/2023 Season Review Moises Ballesteros, or "Big Mo," does not look like your typical professional baseball player. Listed as 5'7", 197 lbs on the Tennessee Smokies website, these numbers are outdated. Frankly, he looks more like he belongs on the Chicago Bears as a fullback than he does behind...444Thu, 16 Nov 2023 13:11:01 +0000https://northsidebaseball.com/news-rumors/cubs-minor-league/cubs-winter-top-prospects-rankings-9-jackson-ferris-r439/2023 Season Review Jackson Ferris entered the 2022 draft with enough hype and helium that some mocked him for going to teams in the late first round. As Ferris "slid" down the board, it became more apparent that it was because a team higher in the draft had saved just enough slot money in thei...439Tue, 14 Nov 2023 12:15:01 +0000https://northsidebaseball.com/news-rumors/cubs-minor-league/cubs-winter-top-prospects-10-alexander-canario-r433/2023 Season Review As the 2022 season came to a close, few prospects had more end-of-the-season helium than Alexander Canario. Showing improved plate discipline and contact ability, not only did many believe Canario was on the path to an early season 2023 call-up, but others believed his 2022...433Mon, 13 Nov 2023 15:12:02 +0000https://northsidebaseball.com/news-rumors/cubs-minor-league/rule-5-draft-deadline-day-whom-should-the-cubs-add-to-the-40-man-roster-r438/Unlike last winter, this fall finds the Cubs without any elite prospects in obvious need of protection from MLB's secondary mechanism for ensuring player freedom. They already allowed Yonathan Perlaza to leave the organization as a minor-league free agent, and added Luis Vazquez to the 40-man to...438Mon, 13 Nov 2023 13:15:02 +0000https://northsidebaseball.com/news-rumors/cubs-minor-league/cubs-winter-top-prospects-rankings-11-james-triantos-r430/2023 Season Review Let's get this out of the way first: James Triantos has, arguably, the best hit tool of any prospect in the entire Cubs system.
