Oh, I remember this vividly. This and the backwards pass by Aaron Brooks pretty much defined the Jim Haslett era here. All the more confirmation of the job Payton and a Loomis did in changing the culture.

Btw, that missed PAT kept them out of the playoffs

That sucks so bad. Sorry Tom. I was sorta rooting to see them have a resurgent season, ala Baltimore Orioles.

So Aqib Talib’s brother shot and killed a pre wee football coach in front of a lot of people including the 9-year old kids playing a PRE-SEASON game.

In general, we frown on that sort of thing.

The Jets are about to be good and all, but this sport and league need to go. Or, at the least, give it to the taxpayers since they pay the bills anyway both literally and figuratively

I feel like this is the case more often than not after reading a Tom post.

This has been burned in my brain since the day it happened. It was in the final week with a playoff spot on the line too.

"Oh my god, how could he *do* that" is, speaking as an aficianado of sports misery porn, an all-timer.

Matt Corral done for the season with a Lisfranc injury, so that about ends his Carolina career since they'll draft a QB next year for sure.

Cam Newton's career essentially ended with a preseason injury in New England too so I'm good with never going there again.

A ton of pissed off Saints fans this morning, but it makes sense. Outside of WR, the DB group is the deepest unit on the team, plus Ceedy wasn’t going to resign anyway, and word is that he was getting to be a problem in the locker room.

Vikings fans spent last year telling Bears fans that Kellen Mond was somehow better than Justin Fields. Kellen Mond just got cut after 1 season in Minnesota.

Did they really? Yikes. Zimmer didn't want Mond so he did him no favors but I never thought Kellen would be any more than backup QB in the league at best.

To be fair it was mostly trolling twitter discourse. I don't think most normal Vikings fans thought so.

Yeah he never impressed me much either. Fell squarely into the 'good college QB but you know he's not going to hack it in the pros' bucket.

Apparently Amazon Prime has been selling advertising for its Thursday Night games promising 15 million viewers/game. The first game (granted, preseason, but...) pulled just 1 million TOTAL viewers, about half of which were over-the-air viewers in the two team markets.

If they don't come close to that 15 mil/game, they're going to be refunding a crap-ton of cash

Sunday Night Football averaged 19.3 million viewers last year. Hitting 15 million on a streaming service seems realllll optimistic.

It's just not going to happen. How many of those 19.3 million are casual fans flipping channels that end up landing on the game? Streaming requires someone to actively go and find the game. It's not happening
