Re: Golf thread
Well Phil and the Saudis seem dead. Good for Rory and the rest of the guys who came out this week. Guessing since all 10 of the top 10 were at the Riv this week there were some meetings, plus Tiger was there, to kill this nonsense.

The local bar got a trackman, and they charge 30 bucks an hour. Pretty nice to have around when there is still snow on the ground and spring is teasing its arrival. Got heckled toting golf clubs around in my neighborhood, though.

Your local bar has a $20k golf ball tracker?

Yeah, I have to guess they got it used, and it seems to think I hit my 3 wood the same distance as my driver, so it has some issues.

Dumbest rule in sports this isn’t a free drop/relief and you have to play out of a divot/ball mark in the fairway.

I’ll be interested to see if he can drive the ball straight or if he tries to hit them with too much speed and they just go all over the course.

Allegedly his ball/swing speed is in line with where it was prior to the accident. And Augusta is a course you really can spray it and not have to be overly accurate and can still do well. I just hope he makes the cut and gives us like a T30.

Tiger at +5000 doesn't seem like a total suckers bet. I mean, it's horsefeathering Tiger. I'll throw a dub at it.

I think that's a pretty horrible bet, myself. That's the same odds to win as Shane Lowry and Sam Burns. SAM BURNS! You could get +5500 on Conners, Fitzpatrick, Adam Scott, and Tyrell Hatton. +6000 on Paul Casey and Tony Finau. All of them are MUCH more likely to win, imho.

Yeah I’d take all those guys over Tiger, who should be over 100/1. I want to like Burns this week, his game should play at Augusta but he’s a debutant and a first timer hasn’t won since the 70s or 80s. Augusta takes time to learn all the intricacies. I’m definitely going on Scott, Hatton and Lowry though to win and top 20-40s depending on the odds there.
Also looking at any ways to fade the horsefeathers out of Bryson this week. His form is horsefeathers, he has poor history at Augusta and he has a wrist injury, back injury and a torn labrum in his hip.

Re: Golf thread
I'll be in Augusta for the weekend rounds. Been holding these ticket since late 2019.
Weather doesn't look awful, but it certainly won't be warm.
I have a $35 Cam Smith 35:1 ticket from a while back, he's down to 15:1 now. I'm not sure who I really like from a betting standpoint currently though, the top tier is just so strong and I don't like to go much under 20:1 for an outright.
That being said, I think JT wins

Re: Golf thread
I'm loading up on Woodland, Varner, Niemann, Hatton, and DJ on draft kings.

Have loved Niemann forever, hit him at Riviera/Genesis earlier this year. Seems like a guy who will do well at Augusta over his career, he has the game to at least pop a bunch of top 10s over the next decade if not outright win. Woodland seems good value too and DJ seems to be lurking/peaking too at a spot he’s always performed well. Brooks seems to be doing the same too.
Henley seems too popular as a long shot but like him as well for some T20-30s and sprinkle for a win, the ball striking is off the charts (still pissed at him for not cashing the win for me at The Sony in January when Hideki chased him down). It’s a bet that won’t likely cash but kinda like a Cam Young sprinkle as well, flashed at Riv/Genesis and it’s a correlated course.

Are you mixing and matching those guys with others on a multi-entry tournament? Because a core of those guys should leave you a lot of money.
I'm not a very good DFS player, but I do know that leaving money on the table is typically a good thing in tournaments. But this seems like a tournament where you should probably spend all of your money or as close to it as possible?

Yeah, I'm doing a lot of line ups this year. The Mrs's asked me, "Why don't you win a bunch of money again?" when she heard the Masters was coming up (my single entry was runner-up for the milli-maker in that weird fall Masters) and since DK was offering a free 100 dollar entry with 1K in spend, I decided to take her up on her idea.
As far as leaving money on the table...it really depends on what the preformance and ownership projections look like, and what kind of tournament you are playing. I'm only playing the millimaker, for which, getting duplicated is a huge bummer. For golf tournaments, in general, as long as you aren't eating all the chalk, you can be ok. But for the Masters there are much fewer golfers (and more dinosaurs that you can't really play) so duplicates in really large tourments like the millimaker become a concern. So for the Masters, you need to be more ownership-conscious, AND more apt to leave money on the table. For instance, the lineup I won all the cash with left 200 on the table, but two of my golfers wound up being much more chalky than I had guessed, and I was duped, thankfully only once. I'm leaving at least 100 on the table for all of my lineups, unless it has someone that I think is going to be super low-owned, or has 3+ players around 5% owned...and then I have some special sauce I'm not going to mention here. Oh, and 0% Tiger.

Re: Golf thread
I took Tiger +100 to finish 51st or better. I figure if he thinks he's healthy enough to play, he's making the cut.

Yeah I did make the cut at +122. That’s my only Tiger exposure. Figured if he’s playing he’s healthy/in good enough form to do that, plus it’s only a 91 man field and there’s like 25 guys between the olds and first timers/international qualifiers that really don’t have a chance to make the cut. So he really just has to be better then like ~15 other guys.

I mean...that's chalk central, apart from maybe DJ and Finau. Even when you hit, you still need to beat a ton of other line ups.
