What's even funnier is that he sucks so much at business he can't even see how he could make money off of that. Like, horsefeathering sell off unused handles like web domains that are being squatted on. It's still insanely ghoulish and gross, but at least he'd be making a little something back. And beyond all that, he's totally bought into the Great Man hype BS that people like him and Elon all fall for through a combination of their own ego and the simps that fawn all over them who think life is like a [expletive] comic book. Like, "well, I had success in one area, so surely I must be naturally successful and brilliant in ANY area I put my mind to! I'll say stupid horsefeathering things like 'philosophy doesn't exist,' or I'll horsefeathering fact check school shootings and pal around with Joe Rogan!"

There were some sexual misconduct allegations a while back. If memory serves, there was an unsubstantiated rape claim from the 80s, and a couple instances of him acting kinda creepy that bordered on sexual harassment (I remember there being something about a handshake with too much eye contact, for instance). He denied the rape thing, while confirming the other behavior but offering explanations that basically amounted to him being a nerd who doesn't know how to interact with normal people. Which, as an astrophysicist, I'd rate those explanations as plausible.

Beyond that, I think his pedantic "actually..." tweets nitpicking every [expletive] thing just wore people out.

NGT's biggest issue (other than the harassment charges, obv) is that he's an expert in a very niche, very specific scientific field, but he thinks that makes him an expert in every field. And being condescendingly and dismissively wrong is a bad look, especially when he never admits wrongdoing (aka the Republican playbook).

It's like Musk, but he's not so much a niche expert as he's good at "inheriting money".

Same thing happened in La Crosse, WI when I was in school up there. Those deaths spawned the Smiley Face Killer conspiracy theory and there were a lot of rumors about a cop or cab driver killing them and dumping them in the river when it was a bunch of drunken idiots who were too hammered to not fall in the river in the middle of winter.
