^^ I wish there was a specific time of year for Martin Sheffield Lickly's or Memphis Kansas Breeze's songs

I've listened to every episode of Bonanas for Bonanza multiple times, just can't get enough of it. I went in for Andy Daly as Dalton Wilcox, but Maria Bamford's Christian entrepreneur (which just as a concept is gd ihlarious) Amy Sleeverson is somehow even more brilliant. Her submissiveness within the marriage, her strong prejudices, etc is just so on the nose...New one from this week with Merrill Markoe:

Whoooooooooops!

https://www.npr.org/2020/12/18/94459419 ... xecutioner

The New York Times has retracted the core of its hit 2018 podcast series Caliphate after an internal review found the paper failed to heed red flags indicating that the man it relied upon for its narrative about the allure of terrorism could not be trusted to tell the truth.

The newspaper has reassigned its star terrorism reporter, Rukmini Callimachi, who hosted the series.

Caliphate relayed the tale about the radicalization of a young Canadian who went to Syria, joined the Islamic State and became an executioner for the extremist group before escaping its hold.

Canadian authorities this fall accused the man, Shehroze Chaudhry, of lying about those activities. He currently faces criminal charges in a federal court in Ontario of perpetrating a terrorism hoax.

And you're not horsefeathering helping yourselves with quotes like this:

"We fell in love with the fact that we had gotten a member of ISIS who would describe his life in the caliphate and would describe his crimes," New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet tells NPR in an interview on Thursday.

Season 2 of Bonanas for Bonanza has supposedly concluded and begs the question: Does the Earswolves plan to run 50+ seasons? It's the only way to get all 431 episodes done at this pace

HBO has announced Batman: The Audio Adventures, a comedy podcast from Saturday Night Live writer Dennis McNicholas, starring Jeffrey Wright as the Dark Knight—yes, even though he’s also playing Commissioner Gordon in The Batman.

I don’t exactly know how a podcast is going to work on a video streaming service, and there’s no word on what the comedy premise of the series is going to be, but the extremely large and talented cast is not likely to be working on something kid-friendly. According to the Hollywood Reporter, who broke the news, the cast includes:

Chris Parnell, Melissa Villaseñor, Seth Meyers, Brent Spiner, John Leguizamo, Ike Barinholtz, Bobby Moynihan, Kenan Thompson, Rosario Dawson, Jason Sudeikis, Alan Tudyk, Heidi Gardner, Brooke Shields, Paul Scheer, Tim Meadows, Fred Armisen, Ray Wise, Ben Rodgers, Katie Rich, Pete Schultz, Paula Pell, Toby Huss, and [Dennis] McNicholas.

If a podcast about a couple who found a horsefeathers ton of library music records in a dumpster sounds appealing, then boy do I have the podcast for you.

I like to think this might be a surprising suggestion coming from me, but the podcast Cumtown has a certain je ne sais quoi and is very funny. There’s something about 3 comics making gobs of money saying everything has a small penis that warms my soul. It would be very disappointing if these guys were CIA
