Johnson doesn't even appear like he's trying to act in the movie. He mostly just stands and stares at nothing. The CGI is awful and he looks grotesque. DC really needs to get their horsefeathers together. Hopefully, Gunn will be able to retool.

Wasnt that The Rock's passion project that he wanted to make for years or something? Would be surprising if he just phoned it in.

Anyways I haven't seen a single DCEU film...none of them. The last DC movie I watched was the last Nolan Batman film. Every time I read things like this is just reaffirms why I haven't bothered to watch even the ones considered decent.

Shazam is a really good time. The first Wonder Woman is pretty enjoyable for the first...2/3rds or so (but skippable). The newest Suicide Squad is James Gunn silliness and pretty damn fun. Peacemaker is a surprisingly great show. The rest of it...yeah don't bother.

I can not wait.

Finally saw this (All Quiet on the Western Front); holy horsefeathers, what a movie. Easily one of the very best of 2022.

I forget that Peacemaker counts as DC universe.

It's so good in all the ways the justice league movies are bad.

Black Adam fails for the same reason Superman movies do: perfect invincible heroes are boring as horsefeathers and are not fun to watch on screen in today's cinematic society.

That is, IMO, a terrible Superman take.

Radical take for cool dudes: an actual Superman movie that isn't some edgleord emo bull horsefeathers or sarcastic Marvel sludge might be the only good superhero movie left to make.

That movie was a horsefeathering mess. What fights scenes are you talking about?

If the best part of a Superman movie is him punching some idiot, that's a bad Superman movie.

Thank you for the reminder to go re-watch season 1. Those opening credits will never get old.

No. Titans and Doom Patrol exist in the same universe...one they were trying to build on the DC streaming service but it got swallowed by HBO. In Titans, Bruce Wayne is played by Iain Glen, aka Jorah Mormont from GoT. So definitely not from the DCEU.

That said, Titans...is pretty bad with some sprinkling of good moments...Doom Patrol is bizarre and leans into it hard, and just really excellent. I haven't seen the newest season yet, but I'm absolutely going to get to it.

I don't remember the last movie I went to with people. I'm nearly positive I have never gone alone.

A couple times, most recently saw The Outfit when I had to kill an afternoon before a flight. Should do it more often, tbh

it's a great solo activity but you have to really not care what people think about you. i was self-conscious about it, but that's a me problem

yeah, that's crazy to me. i can't imagine giving a horsefeathers if people think going to the movies by myself is weird. hell, i've gone to sporting events solo and never thought twice about it.

I was, completely unshockingly, a massive movie nerd (let's face it, the movie part is redundant) in high school, and started going to movies all the time by myself, not giving a second thought about it. I dropped that little tidbit at lunch one day thinking it was NBD, and got my ass ROASTED for it for, like, the rest of the semester. That horsefeathers scarred my dumb lizard brain so bad I still kinda break out into a cold sweat about the idea of going to a theater by myself.

Those horsefeathering horsefeathers kids ruined me: if you love going to the movies by yourself, horsefeathers yeah, rock on.

Solo movies are great, but it's definitely something that took doing a couple times before the self consciousness wore off. But at this point it's probably 50/50 whether I go with or without someone else. It's great though especially hitting up a Saturday matinee after like a good workout or heavy yardwork.

In a similar vein I'm trying to get there on going to sit down restaurants but having a much tougher time. And the few times I've tried I've like devoured my food because I get overly concerned with how quickly the waiter wants to turn the table over.
