Re: Guess what an idiot with a steering wheel did this time
On my way home down I-10 yesterday, a guy on a motorcycle merged onto the road doing a wheelie, and kept doing a wheelie down the interstate for what I would guess to be just under a mile at 70 mph. I'm sure everyone would likely say the same thing about their commute, but drivers on the freeways around here seem especially nuts, even more so since Covid.

I rented a Uhaul once for a 3 mile move. Medium sized but I wanted to only do one trip because it was January. I packed it up night before move and the horsefeathering door froze shut over night. It was -10 degrees. Those things do have a ton of blindspots

Re: Guess what an idiot with a steering wheel did this time
post semi-driver years, and while in college, I delivered auto glass all over Minnesota in a van. It was ridiculously lonely and boring work, so I started bringing my roommate with on an occasion he had nothing better to do. That was a big no-no, passengers not hired by the company were a liability. I would leave the warehouse at 5:30 pm and return around midnight - 1:00 am. But for a college kid, I made decent money (and considering I paid my way through college, I needed LOTS of money) and it left my entire day open for classes.
One night, as we were headed out of the Cities, Matt (my roomy) was blabbering on about "The Last Jedi" to the point I wasn't paying attention when I took the wrong freeway ramp. realizing my mistake, I located another exit and overpass that would allow me to head the other way down the freeway. However, the exit was a dual exit with one lane headed for the overpass I wanted to be on (it went straight) and the other a clover-leaf that headed 90 degrees to the right. Thinking I was in the former, I was actually in the latter and before I realized it I was headed for the median at about 65 mph. I locked the brakes up, cranked the steering wheel, but it the curb at about 45 sending the van flying into the air and the auto glass crashing into the headache rack behind the front seats. I broke every single piece of glass.
When the van landed, my buddy finally stopped talking about SW, looked at me and asked "What the horsefeathers just happened??" Knowing my job was now in jeopardy, I looked at Matt and said "RUN!" I looked just past him, saw a Target, and told him to "run to the Target, when I get this dealt with with the police, I'll come pick you up" figuring, rightly so, that a crash was bad, but a non-employee passenger was worse for my job. Matt, despite being very bewildered, got out and started to run away from the van. I called 911, but before the phone stopped ringing, 2 cops showed up. I was confused by their response because they didn't come to the van, instead they went after Matt. They grabbed him, threw him onto the ground, searched him and had him in handcuffs at gun point before I could even get out of the van and explain what happened. They thought he had stolen the van and was running from the scene. horsefeathering MPLS PD.
If you ever ride with me, and I crash, don't run from the car no matter what I say.

I believe they are supposed to flush the systems every year, but even in a years time the water can build up a lot of crud.
ETA: every 5 years according to the NFPA. muuuuuch worse...

Waukesha is roughly 90 minutes from where I live. Horrible horrible. My future son in law is in college there. All courses canceled this week.

Up to five fatalities now. Person of interest was possibly fleeing police from another crime. The internet has scoured this guy's social media and rap sheet and he's a real piece of horsefeathers

If it was indeed a high speed chase, then one must ask, yet again, why the horsefeathers are there still high speed chases in 2021?

They're now saying it wasn't a chase, just that the dude was fleeing from another incident.

If I hear about a passenger car being involved in a collision with a semi-truck, I’d assume that would be nothing left resembling an automobile. The driver usually doesn’t survive the incident or is seriously injured at best. I would never believe that the driver would be waving out the side window to another car, but that’s how events played out on a highway outside of Chicago, Illinois earlier this week.

John Kuczwanski, the Legislative Affairs Director for the State Board of Administration, was killed in a shootout triggered by a road rage incident in north Tallahassee.
Sources familiar with details of the investigation told Florida Politics that Kuczwanski caused the auto accident that began the chain of events, and that he began the shootout that led to his own death.
The sources said the incident began after Kuczwanski’s BMW drifted out of its lane while heading north on Thomasville Road. That’s when the BMW hit a white Prius.
Both cars pulled into a parking lot. The driver of the Prius confronted Kuczwanski about hitting him, the sources said. The Prius’ driver then returned to his car to wait for law enforcement’s arrival after confronting Kuczwanski. That is when, according to Florida Politics’ sources, Kuczwanski rammed his BMW into the Prius on the driver’s door, and began pushing the car sideways in the parking lot.
Kuczwanski then shot a gun at the white Prius, according to the sources. The Prius driver drew a gun and fired back into the windshield of Kuczwanski’s BMW. Kuczwanski was hit and killed, according to the sources.
Previously, Kuczwanski pleaded no contest to assault and disorderly conduct charges in 2014 related to a separate road rage incident at the same intersection, as first reported by Tallahassee Reports.

Utah Woman Claims She Killed Two Cyclists Due to Uncontrollable Bowels

A woman in Washington City, Utah was jailed Saturday on two counts of DUI and two felony counts of automobile homicide after killing two cyclists while driving down a highway. Despite failing field sobriety tests, Julie Ann Budge, 47, told officers that she swerved her Hyundai Genesis into the cyclists, who were brothers in town from California to participate in a bike tour, because she suddenly began defecating uncontrollably due to “various medical issues.”
