Not that it matters much to Trump, but yesterday the judge he and his lawyers trashed in public during their frivolous suit against Clinton et al. sanctioned the lawyers to the tune of $900K.

And it totally related news, Trump dropped his suit against NY AG today. Sometimes things sink in.

North Dakota lawmakers are considering legislation to ban books containing “sexually explicit” content from public libraries. Under the proposed law, librarians who refuse to remove books containing such content, which includes depictions of “sexual identity” and “gender identity” as well as “sexual preference,” “sexual intercourse,” and “sexual perversion,” would face 30 days in prison and a $1,500 fine.

They picked the wrong fight. Librarians are definitely the hippy/ACLU types to take a stand, go to jail, and fight this.

horsefeathers yea they are! I love working with them on new libraries, its the most rewarding type of project just because of how dedicated they are to freedom of the press, and serving their whole communities. I was the PA on Fargos Main Library, I can't imagine that this is happening to one of my former clients and projects.

Man, Republicans just mask off grandstanding all buckwild on the state and national level. You've got this from ND, Idaho basically wanting to gut SNAP benefits, Boebert introducing a bill to defund Planned Parenthood, DeSanits bizarrely trying to "ban" AP African American studies...these horsefeathering creeps just do not give a single horsefeathers about being as brazenly evil as possible.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/21/politics ... index.html

CNN - FBI investigators on Friday found additional classified material while conducting a search of President Joe Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware, home.

Bob Bauer, the president’s personal attorney, said in a statement that during the search, which took place over nearly 13 hours Friday, “DOJ took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President. DOJ also took for further review personally handwritten notes from the vice-presidential years.”

Those six items are in addition to materials previously found at Biden’s Wilmington residence and in his private office.

All that tells me is that non-white house members are also given classified documents so everyone in the capitol is probably sitting on a pile of them themselves so it doesn't matter, right? I'm sure they'll see the logic of that and also realize "Oh wait, he's the President and he can have classified documents" and drop their smear campaign against the President. All is well.

Smear campaign....that was kicked off by the Biden camp pre-emptively fessing up and turning in classified documents?

To me this reads like they were anticipating endless Biden family investigations by the idiot House brigade and wanted to get out in front of any possible real thing they could latch onto

That still doesn't make sense, IMO; again, they started all of this by turning horsefeathers in. The Republicans currently have zero power to do anything along the lines of the investigation that resulted in Trump's home being raided, so what are they possibly "getting in front of?"

The reality is that they likely realized a serious mistake had occurred and they had to come forward with it. Yes, something like this very latest revelation is likely more of a technicality than anything else, but it's the result of the Biden camp thinking they had screwed up bad enough that they had to effectively tell on themselves.

I guess classified documents are a free-for-all. Everyone takes them, nobody cares. The safest assumption is that security on these documents is horribly broken and they are laying all over the place undetected.

Classification is a process not rooted in objective anchors. There are multiple levels of classification and some things are classified for political reasons and not national security reasons. It's no wonder why they can't keep a lid on all of the documents. I assume that most of the documents are time sensitive and no longer should be classified.

The distinction should be that Trump took them with intent, hid them, and tried to keep them after the government asked for them back, while everyone else said, "my bad, I found this, here take it back. I'm sorry."

No one in our bottom-line gottcha-centric media will be able to educate the public to an extent that this distinction will make a difference. Thus, Trump wins again.

This is what so many are missing. Yes Biden and Pence are both stupid for doing this, but there's a difference between realizing a mistake and self reporting versus forcing the FBI to raid you because you refuse to hand them over.

But it's a costly mistake.

Again, my main beef is how so few people seem to be remembering how completely gonzo and unprecedented it was that the FBI raided a former horsefeathering president's home....and then nothing came of it.

Like, you can't divorce politics from any of this, so if you get to the point they you're willing to sign off on something as serious as the raid, then something has to come from it ASAP, and one of the reasons is, for better or for (mostly) worse, because stuff like this can come along and influence the narrative.

They shouldn't have been willing to do something of that scale if they weren't also confident that it would result in charges, period.

My concern now, beyond these cases, is that this is something that has been out of control for a long time, undetected (or mostly undetected), and now there's no way to really know what documents of what classification were taken.

TBH, the vast majority of these cases are what CubinNY described, and it's really not worth getting worked up over. The Trump case rose to the level it did because that was deliberate, malicious action with sensitive TS content. I'd bet good money the Pence and Biden incidents were accidents; SO much daily horsefeathers is classified just out of habit as opposed to necessity.
