Those S-gels are the truth. They've been my go-to for years now.

I use fountain pens. I love them. I got one as a Christmas present one year and haven't looked back.

Pen #2 has been my go to since I was like 15. It's not the best pen, but for my miserable handwriting it makes it look slightly less miserable than the others.

They're expensive so I generally try to just have one for my office and one for travel, but I'm a big fan of the Fisher space pens. Lots of different form factors/styles to choose from too, but they all write just as smoothly.

I’ve been loyal to G-2s ever since the big switch from pencil to pen in 3rd or 4th grade.
I prefer a finer point, more weight, and less bold ink these days but someone stole my space pen like 10 years ago so

Same. They make fine tip felt pens that I love, too. But those S-gels are the best cheap-ish pens I've ever used.

I don't much, but I work in health care and still have to use paper logs on rare occasions. Definitely a lot during the height of the pandemic when visitor logs were a big thing in a lot of places.

Plus I like to write here and there just so the muscle memory doesn't fade completely. Have you see the handwriting of pretty much anyone born after 2000? It's ghastly, like a kindergartner from 30 years ago. That, and I am an ADHD doodler, and still take notes in a pocket notebook when I don't feel like dragging a computer/tablet around.

Retractable Pilot Precise V5 is the only pen I use, and have used for some years now. I always carry multiple, because I have to track them down on the occasion I loan one out, and I often just let it go. They're great pens.

Officially diagnosed with a hernia. Can’t get surgery until May, as you can’t drive a car for 4-6 weeks after the procedure (and I can’t just take 6 weeks off from work).

Not how I planned to spend the first half of my summer break. Getting old sucks

Just had a client who brought me a closing statement on the purchase of a home where their rate is 16.99%. That's like buying a house on a credit card. How are they ever going to pay this off?

I have a relative who manages a lending office. Their loans are targeted to lower income borrowers and start at 32%. horsefeathers like this should be illegal.

Amazingly that's probably the rate many of our parents bought at.

The answer for many is they never paid off at that rate. Re-fied, borrowed against equity, etc and still have mortgages 40+ years after becoming homeowners.

It's just so predatory and gross, like those check cashing places and payday loans. People are in desperate need so companies exploit them at mafia level interest/fees.

You're describing just like unsecured loans at 32%, not mortgages right? (yes, I agree still gross, but want to make sure I'm understanding that right).

Unsecured, autos, etc. I'm not sure what their limit is, but it's definitely not mortgage-level stuff.

back in my finance days, some of our debt sources provided 36-60 month loans for high-end printers at 35-65% interest to customers with poor personal and business credit. predatory lending is horsefeathering gross.

if you think those interest rates are high, that's nothing compared to payday loans. some of them can get as high as 600%. there's a reason why many states outlaw these types of loans.
