How many people can name ANY of the other people being unfairly detained by Russia? That has nothing to do with you thinking that Cherelle Griner should....what, stop talking about this? Or should stop criticizing the administration?
And yeah, "seriously," the US government, can, shockingly, multi-task. Yes, getting home a US citizen being unfairly detained overseas should always be a priority. That doesn't mean anyone is expecting to to be their only priority, or, inexplicably, that she is "more important than everyone else in the country" (seriously, what the horsefeathers).
It is, quite frankly, ridiculous that this hasn't been handled via a prisoner swap at this point, and really points to, IMO, that the Biden administration values a hardline stance against Russia vs. getting Griner home. Also can't help but think that given Griner's vocal political stances and her general "optics" that they're in no hurry to get this done.
horsefeathers, you've convinced me; she should actually complain more and louder about this.
I thought the Admin told Griner to plead guilty to get through the Russian court system first and as quickly as possible, as in the Russians wouldnt prisoner swap an arrested person prior to conviction? at least, I thought I read that in an article. I'm not sure thats the greatest tactic to take, but what do I know
