So regardless of how many games get played this year, MLB is granting players a year of service time no matter what. Was wondering how they would handle that this year.

Yeah I’d assume they just pro rate it off of whatever the % reduction we see in games played/league year reduced.

That is great but now they'll have to worry about what the owners want in return beyond the stadiums we will be paying for. The crazy thing is that it was in doubt considering it's the only right choice, these careers are very short and getting shorter by design so to lose both a year in age AND teams still get the year would have been pretty sadistic...Prices are going to continue to come down just on these guys getting older anyway

The slate of games is kinda weird...

One of the most important games in Cubs' history is the obvious choice for our team. The 2018 5-for-5 game for Mike Trout is the best they could come up with for the Angels lol?

Yeah, the Phillies and Astros were weird also. Those three teams all have WS runs in their history (Arizona’s game is 2001 G7 so they could have picked an Angels game from 02) but they go with random regular season games.

Best one though is the Reds. They picked opening day last year. Not a great hitting performance, not a great pitching performance, not a great walkoff/comeback. Just last years opening day.

Yup, not surprised by this. Dexter Fowler is a good dude and it sucks he's on a rival team.

I hope we bring him back as a coach/instructor after his playing career is over.

That's super weird. They added that Jackie Robinson made a later list for 20th century's most influential, but they didn't have their annual Time magazine's Top 100 lists until later on.
