Does make me realize how stacked the 3B position is right now. Moncada didn’t make this list either and he arguably had a better season than KB last year

I had to look up who McNeil even was, and I for one am shocked that this Ryan Ludwick esque loser isn't on the Cardinals.

That was because of Todd Frasier. He'll be their primary 3B this year barring any big surprises.

It’s one swing at less than 100% so who knows how much this will be his in game swing but he’s definitely more upright in the video (always kinda assumed he’d get more upright as he ages and less crouched as he lost some athleticism and flexibility) his front foot/side is also a little more open than I remember too along with a little bit of a leg load.

Reminds me of the adjustments Brennen Davis made to take advantage of his size, long levers, and eyes to unlock more power

How do you "take advantage of your eyes"?

Asking for a friend (Mike Olt).

I’d say not weird imo. I’d go:

Details on the arbitrator's decision have come out.

the injuries to Olt and LaStella, the fact that Bryant had the worst spring training fielding percentage of any 3B, and this appears to be the clincher

Irvings highlighted how in Epstein’s previous 14 seasons running a club’s front office, not once did he promote a true rookie in September or have one make his 25-man, Opening Day roster.

“He had a philosophy of player development that he had followed at that point for 14 years as the person in ultimate control of baseball operations at two big-market baseball clubs,” the report said.

“The association is correct that Bryant’s minor league and spring training numbers were exceptional, even unprecedented, but it cannot be said that consistent adherence to a philosophy that had proven successful is evidence of bad faith motivation.”

If Theo could've been 100% honest he definitely would've said, "Look, guys, I didn't want it to look this obvious that we were gaming his service time, I would've brought him up later than the exact day we secured the extra year but all my other third basemen got hurt"

Not much later... They weren't going to give Mike Olt a super long leash and some in the organization (not Theo or Jed) wanted him to break camp with the big league team. They thought it was a certainty that the Cubs and KB would eventually work out an extension so why delay it?

Not that it matters anymore, but they called up Addison Russell way too soon that year. He needed more time to improve and work on his approach in the minors. No doubt Theo rushed that in my mind.

Coronavirus is a biological weapon created by Boras to give KB an extra year of service time without playing

Since I just watched Game 7 again, friendly reminder that KB scored on a sac fly to short LF and scored from first on a single in that game.

Love that you brought this up. That sac fly score was amazing. He probably would have been out with a lower throw but that’s the point, he caught them so off guard that a throw was rushed and he scored.

No one's ever asked him to my knowledge but I'd bet my life Jones only decided to send him when he could tell Davis wasn't planning a throw.

Obviously we know what Davis did at the plate, but man was he (and the rest of the outfield) a disaster in the field for them. You can even point to the last AB, and having by far their worst hitter at the plate because they had to bring him in for defensive purposes.

I just saw a video on YouTube that showed a bunch of star's 1st hits, and I completely forgot that KBs 1st hit was a blooper and when Rizzo tried to get to third and made it, KB used heads up baserunning to get to 2B. Sign of things to come.

Bryant's hit starts at 1:22
