''Lou's going to keep his job. We're going to go to the playoffs. You can mark the day I said it, today.''

If they don't, we know it won't be due to a lack of his effort.

Bless his heart, he means well.

But I'm wishing Dempster would have pulled him aside and talked to him about making bold predictions.

I love Byrd's attitude, but he's obviously way off on this one.

I don't know about way off. Lou is going to keep his job, and you can mark down today as the day he said what he said. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Any chance I can get the lottery numbers for tonight?

But honestly, I just hate it when a psychic ruins the surprise.

Obviously it doesn't make me think we can make the playoffs. But it's good to see there is definitely still a good deal of confidence in that clubhouse.

Or maybe Byrd is a terrifying madman and his delusional insanity is tearing the clubhouse apart.

LOL reminds me of the Happy Gilmore line, "I eat [expletive] like you for breakfast."

Erik guarantees a drug arrest for Mr. Byrd sometime soon.

The force is strong with this one.

Unfortunately, he hasn't been a Cub long enough, so he still has optimism. Good for him.

I love Marlon, I really do, but I don't see this as much more than posturing. After all, what is he supposed to say? "We suck and we're not going anywhere"?

If he guarantees a playoff berth and is completely serious he's on something more powerful than Ozzy Osbourn could have ever dreamed of.

We're going to go to the playoffs.

As in what year.

Come to think of it, he doesn't say anything about actually participating in the playoffs...... just being there.
