Congrats NC. You well deserve the win.
Just shows how much of a crapshoot fantasy football is from week to week. Last week my team was rather putrid (third lowest score) and you would have easily beaten me, but I was fortunate to be up against the team with the second lowest score. This week against better competition my team steps up to the challenge. They remind me of the Colts in the sense that they frequently do just enough to win.

I was the top 1-2 scorer (over the course of the season) in all three of my leagues and I went a combined 1-3 in the playoffs. I hate fantasy football sometimes.

Matt Moore is making me cross my fingers hoping I made the right decision at QB. [-o<

Looks like starting Manning over Moore could cost me the championship. At least I'm still in it, down by a little over 12 but with a 2 to 1 remaining advantage. I still think I made the right decision at the time, since Moore's performance was unexpected and the Colts were silent about their plans for Manning.

Whew! The Bears' DST (mainly the kickoff returning) and Rice pulled it out for me. I'm not sure I really deserved the championship (two of the three playoff weeks I was the 3rd lowest scoring team but had the luck of playing one of the lower scoring teams), but I'm perfectly willing to acknowledge the role luck can play.

It's been a fun season. I'm greedy, so I'll be looking to repeat next year. :D

Congrats man! Peyton/Caldwell almost ruined your chances there. Luck plays such a huge factor for sure especially the .2 points win you had over me. Thanks for letting me play!

I have renewed the league and sent invitations through Yahoo to last year's members. If anybody participated last year but did not get the invitation through Yahoo you can send me a PM through NSBB and I can provide the information you need to register.

As I explain in more detail in the invitation through Yahoo I made a few changes to address issues that were raised last year. I changed return yards and TDs from team defense scoring to individual player scoring; this should address the issue of bad defenses putting up good scores because of kickoff return opportunities after giving up TDs. And I added a couple more active players (and correspondingly reduced the number of bench positions, which I thought was a bit excessive anyway, to keep total roster size the same). This should reduce the impact of one player (usually a QB) on total team score.

If anybody who participated last year sees this post and does not plan to participate again this year I'd appreciate your posting this so I know if there will be any vacancies to be filled. If there are any vacancies I'll fill them on a first-come, first-serve basis, so if you are interested in joining the league please post so here and I'll invite the appropriate number of new members if anybody doesn't return. The only requirement for participating in the league is that you must be committed to remaining active all year regardless of whether you remain in playoff contention or not.

I'm retiring. Give my spot to someone that deserves it.

First non-commissioner to re-join! That probably makes me a nerd.

So far dew, Andy, and da Bum have registered, and we know there will be at least one opening for a new member. Three of the four current members are Ball State grads.

I know there's at least one opening (Jim Sorgi posted that he isn't playing this year), so I sent you a PM with the information to register.

You're next in line if there is.

I'll give the remaining members from last year until the end of the day on Monday to sign up, then on Tuesday I'll start filling the spots with replacements. Evv98 gets the first opening if there is one (which looks very likely at this point). Anybody else interested should post their interest in this thread; first come, first served.

I've sent an invitation to evv98. If he's still interested that would make 10 members. I set the limit to 14, so there's still room for up to 4 more. I'll have to add any more teams two at a time to make sure that the league has an even number of teams (a requirement for all head-to-head leagues). The draft is set for Wednesday, Aug. 25, so the league needs to be finalized before then.

There is an opening if at least one other person indicates an interest to keep the league at an even number of teams. That's a requirement of Yahoo for head-to-head leagues.

If you need another I am interested.

I sent PM's to Cubbies622 and shnsajax. That gives us 12 teams, so there's still room for two more.

Hello, NCCF....

I am interested in joining the NSBB Fantasy Football league if you can come up with a fourteenth member.

Hope you and yours are well.

If one other person expresses an interest we'll have the full 14 teams. Not much time to speak up, though; the draft is this Wednesday evening and the league needs to be finalized by then.

My star receivers: Steve Smith and Steve Smith. :D

I'm participating in the live draft, but for some reason I'm not able to post in the chat (I think that might be because I'm using a netbook with a small screen.)

Possible good news for the rest of the league this year: You might have a chance. The rating site that was mentioned in one of the "Rate My Team" threads says that I have a 65% chance of making the playoffs with great in-season management, 50% with good, and 28% with average.

I got a 70%, 55%, 38% assuming I had the same attributes you had :-).
